Hi,
I bricked my New 2DS XL and used a CTRNAND image to unbrick it. Now I see (in home menu) none of the titles I had installed on my SD but their folders are still in the SD (I've already checked the .tmd files inside folders and they are those they were before the brick).

As far as I know the 3DS uses a key to encrypt the content of the folders that contains titles but... is that key related to the one Nintendo uses to ban a console? Is there a way to recover my personal key?

I made a NAND backup but I'm not sure if I replaced the prebrick one with the unbrick-after-been-bricked one.

Is there a proper way to free that space used by those files and folders?

Thanks in advance.

PS: All this happened two weeks (more) ago so it's not fresh in my memory. That's why I am not really sure about what kind of NAND-backup I have.

A simple way of solving this issue is by converting the missing titles to .cia files and reinstalling them

How to convert software titles to .cia files via Godmode9

1: Boot Godmode9

2: Highlight the directory [A:] SYSNAND SD from the Godmode9 home screen press R+A

3: Select the option Search for titles from the drop-down menu on the bottom screen

4: After the title search completes mark each title displayed on the top-screen by highlighting it and pressing L

5: After marking the titles select any one from this list and select the option TMD file options... from the drop down menu

6: Now select the option Build CIA (standard) and wait for the process to complete

7: after completion there should be several titles built to 0:/gm9/out

how to install titles via FBI

1: Boot your 3ds and choose a application on the home menu

2: After booting a application of your choice boot the Rosalina menu by pressing L+Down(DPad)+Select

3: Select the option Miscellaneous options... from the Rosalina drop-down menu

4: Next select the option Switch hb. title to the current app. and exit the Rosalina menu and the application

5: Re enter the previously selected application and it should now boot the homebrew menu now select the FBI app and install your titles

6: Reboot your 3DS to reverse the effects of the Rosalina Menu

I hope this solves your issue if you have further questions do not hesitate to ask

I already warned you before that this method has drawbacks back in the 3DS noob thread.

Without special considerations, this approach will overwrite and erase all of his saves and replace private legit tickets that were acquired from eShop purchases with fake ones. You do not resort to relisting the SD card's title.db and import.db unless they can be assessed as being damaged. If they are, one would resort to using CTRTransfer (Type D9) - Rebuild 3DS Database.

@t33st33r, if the tickets are missing, you'll need faketik like what @wormdood stated. Otherwise, figure out why the titles are missing like in this list of possible causes.

Worked like a charm? So many thanks @TurdPooCharger & @wormdood

Now I can see those icons in my home menu. I have a question now:
I've checked updates and the result is that games (not sure if all of them... there is a question about this below) have updates (and I can play all those games in home menu). I have entered FBI's options (inside "Titles") and I can see HWL have 3 entry points (the game, the update and the DLC). Does it mean all 3 titles are accesible? In other words: Does it mean I can play the updated game with the DLC?

Could it work partialy? Example: Some games/updates/DLCs get restored and some games/updates/DLCs get not. In affirmative case... what's the better way to check if all my previosly working titles are working now?

Your solution is hiding in the links given by both turdpoocharger and I. Taken from the last link turd gave you . .
The 3DS system no longer has the ticket(s) for those titles that are missing. (Greyed out X's in Data Management).
... and the faketicket app has a faq
My game didn't appear / it found no titles to fix!
The most likely reason for this is that the system does not know that the title exists.

If a Nintendo DSiWare title did not appear, this is likely due to an old CTRNAND image being restored, which means an older /dbs/title.db file was restored that does not contain the DSiWare title's information. The easiest method to fix this is to back up saves from TWLNAND, delete, and re-install the titles.

Apparently that could only happen with DSiWare. I didn't have any DSiWare before the brick so I don't have to worry about it. right?
I don't know if the problem is dsi exclusive but the way to check is the 3ds's data managment located in the 3ds's settings app you look for titles with a grey "x" any you find may need to be fixed . . .
