It is possible to export the .character file using the save editor and modify their magic using a hex editor. The problem with save editing magic is that the results wont stick, it all gets reset after a class change.

What we really need is cheats that modify magic for each character, that way you can just turn the cheat on after a class change.

This is the location for the learned magic data, it's at the same spot for each .character file.
0C = Meteor
0F = Mire B
26 = Empty / Nothing

This is the "number of uses" location for each spell.
For me having edited magic while as long as not changing the class is acceptable too. Given that i can change them again in the save editor without using cheat code etc if i really want to change class later. Hopefully someone will update the save editor.

I didn't see on first post so gonna ask. Is there any code for the skills?

I mean, these:
  • Sword
  • Lance
  • Axe
  • Bow
  • Brawl
  • Reason
  • Faith
  • Authority
  • Heavy Armor
  • Riding
  • Flying

I wanted to try start a game with all maxed, but only that. So I can recruit whoever I want and also use whatever job I'd like, but other than that, playing "normally" lol. xD
There is a code that gives x256 Skill Exp. So while you won't start out maxed, you just have to fight a battle or two using different classes/weapons and it'll max out.

Cheats found but title id or region doesn't match

Was trying to use first item for all characters x99

I just beat the death knight the first time you encounter his took like 10 trys to beat him so i set it up that byleth is holding just the dark seal and nobody else is holding anything and i can't use the cheat

My switch is from the uk, also im is it's just the title id that needs to change i don't know what to change it too

I mean, technically you can just set all your skills to max with an editor, but this means that you will miss out on all the abilities and arts ou get when leveling up skills. Which means your character will have S+ in swords but still be terrible at using them

Oh.. right.
I'm guessing keeping at S with 1 point to level up won't auto give me all skills at the same time either. Thanks for pointing it out.

There is a code that gives x256 Skill Exp. So while you won't start out maxed, you just have to fight a battle or two using different classes/weapons and it'll max out.

In the first battle I think we have Sword and Axe maybe, I don't remember. So if I use the code with that sword, only the sword will level up or everything else too? Asking because of the Flying/Riding skills.
Or do the skill code works outside battles too, like in conjunction with for example, 9 activity points (teaching)? Which then I can fast level other skills I do not have weapons/means to?

Is the code in this topic somewhere? I'll try find it then.
Thanks for the reply.

Edit:
Found it, 2 things actually.
The code @ page 45: https://gbatemp.net/threads/fire-emblem-three-houses-general-hacking.544144/page-45#post-8736670
The answer to my question by youself @ page 67 https://gbatemp.net/threads/fire-emblem-three-houses-general-hacking.544144/page-67#post-8742367

Thank you.

Welp, with the 1.0.2 update available (only through firmware 9.0.0), along with DLC Pack 2, it looks like they have added new items (guessing these take place of one of the Spare Slot items). Guess once CFW supports the current firmware, we'll find out if using the Save Editor with it will break the save or not.

You don't need 9.0. Ignoring FW works fine. At least for 1.0.2 update.

Can you guys access the new contents? I downloaded the 1.0.2 update file and the DLC files (Nintendo banned me right after I bought FETH so I can't even redeem my season pass content in the eshop lol!). When I go into the game, it does say that the new update is installed, but I don't see any of the auxiliary battles or bonus items on the bed, or any of the new attire for the students.

Edit: Seems like the DLC files online now are just placeholder. Only the Byleth uniform one is of right size (10mb), the rest are all 134 kb. Guess I will just have to wait for people to upload those DLC files too. Really sucks to be banned lol, so much more annoying to update games and download DLCs.

do the cheats still work with 1.02 update?
They can't, the savegame is inside the memory of main.nso, if the file gets bigger (through an update) then the cheats need to be updated. The same goes for code patches.
Just don't update right after it's out if you care about cheats.

New Savegame Pointer is 0x1A846F0, so all codes that start with "580F0000 019D76F0" should work again if you replace "019D76F0" with "01A846F0".
All codes who used the address directly instead of that pointer, need to be updated, like the "Max Action Points" code.

You don't need 9.0. Ignoring FW works fine. At least for 1.0.2 update.
Minimum required firmware is 8.1.0 and it's encrypted using master_key_07, so technically it should work with 7.0.0+.
But maybe they did add something new, because 9.0.0 was made to fix a bug with this game?

Hi @Falo, will the save editor still work properly with the new update? :D

Anyone have play maddening difficulty with the new update? Is it different compared to the one that we hacked/force unlock from before?
From what I gathered on Gamefaqs, the real maddening difficulty seems to be different and significantly more challenging than the one we've been playing. A lot of people are taking 20+ turns to beat the first bandit stage, and 40+ turns for the mock battle, because of the bumped difficulty. I already finished 1 full route in the hacked maddening and I never really had much trouble.
I guess that's why maddening isn't included on release because there were still some tweakings left to do. The one we got to experience early doesn't seem to be the finished product.
But since I haven't tried it myself, I can't confirm or deny the accuracy of those posts.

Played some of the new Maddening and yea, the difficulty of the one we had access to before launch was definitely what I thought it was - a framework for them to tweak one hell of a lot. Maddening as it was intended is, at least so far (been playing it on/off since it came out for a total of about 10ish hours on a fresh save) has been a good deal harder than the pre-release Maddening, and I imagine later in a run it'll be a min-maxing wet dream.

Either this is true for everyone or my download is fucked. Either way, I'm enjoying it.

Edit: Yea, people were saying nonsense like "Character X now does these new fancy things, such as A and B!" - so far, not a lot of that happening, it's definitely been number inflation more than anything, also the AI seems to make better choices rather than "I'll gun for the nearest person I don't like the look of" in some situations (but not an unreasonably higher amount).

Edit 2: If I have anything to really compare it to, think of the boss called "Darkeater Midir" from Dark Souls 3 if you've played it and know what that is in comparison to everything else in that game in terms of numbers, and you'll kinda get it.

damn that's a pity, I was getting excited and motivation to play another full playthrough in this new maddening...I read that the DK has a rafail gem too. Guess that's a lie then :/

Forgot to note that DC25 also said this: "the only change they did was tack on additional levels/stat inflation to enemies, everything else remains COMPLETELY unchanged."

So maybe that's why people feel it to be slightly harder.

oh ok. Yeah that definitely explains why people are taking so many turns to beat the early stages...Inflating stats and increase enemy levels are really not the ideal way to increase difficulty, but given how relatively easy maddening was in its previous form, I guess this is still better than having the official maddening in the exact same form.

Does anyone know if it's possible to switch from the pre-released maddening to the official maddening on an existing save? Since the changes are minimal, I don't feel like starting fresh again. But I definitely do want to have the higher stats enemies on my current playthrough.

Hi @Falo, will the save editor still work properly with the new update? :D

Save Editor related changes 1.0.0/1.0.1 -> 1.0.2

fixed_persondata.bin:
Code:
0021 Ignatz:
Scale[0]: -1 -> 0,95
Height after timeskip: 164 -> 168

fixed_classdata.bin:
Code:
a lot of classes had the unk9[5 - 9] bytes changed, most of them are increased, most likely some difficulty related values

fixed_data.bin:
Code:
Item 10: no changes
Item 600: no changes

Item 1000: 4 new items
1051 Sacred Galewind Shoes
1052 Sacred Floral Robe
1053 Sacred Snowmelt Drop
1054 Sacred Moonstone

Item 4000: no changes
Item 5000: no changes
Item 6000: no changes
Item 7000: no changes

Until the dlc is dumped i can't say for sure, but for now the save editor should work without any problem,
i made sure that any item id is possible, even if it's not in the db, but i already made a new build with the updated files.
I will wait for the dlc to make more changes.
