Hey everyone I been gone for a while I'm looking for info about cfw on a switch with 7.1.0 and a right guide to use if any.....I recently bought a sx pro is that something i need or can I get by without it

You can definitely get by without it. There are good guides that you can find online and on gbatemp.

There's plenty of guides out there for you to follow. But first make sure which CFS you'd like to use.
For starters try this ReiNX guide.
