Hacking Question What can i do on modding on my switch

Hi, I understand there are many posts talking on modding tutorial however there seems to have multiple options on modding.

My Switch serial number is XAJ10018464526, I bought it since Dec 2017. So it should be safe to run ''fusée gelée'' based on this website checker

However, it is running FW.8.0.1.

Can my switch still able to Jailbreak to play pirated games? Without banning.

How can I do it?

Do I need to buy RCM Loader & Jig in order to jailbreak, and do you guys know where can I download pirated games?

What are the steps to take? Do I have to purchase another sd for backup? And how large should I buy for backup?

I owned a 128gb sd card, not sure it is enough for games.

You can still hack your switch and you can play pirated games but you CANNOT play pirated games online, you will instantly be banned.

You don't necesarilly need rcm loader and jig, to hack your switch, the jig is used to get into recovery mode and the rcmloader pushes payloads, there are other ways to do both of those, look at the link above for more info.

Also It is against the rules to ask where to find pirated games so you're gonna have to search somewhere else.

The best way to avoid a ban is sysnand/emunand: you can use it to install a CFW and play backups offline while being able to play online from OFW
I'd wait for an easier to setup and stabler emummc

It seems like I need to buy this Jig, I think it is easier for me since I don't have the skills to solder.

However, there seems like different jig which I can get from Thailand. Is all Jig make the same?

I have uploaded the photos, do anybody know isn't different?

I am using the jig that comes with RCMLoaer and it works perfectly, It looks a lot like the one in the second picture that you send

I playing Just Dance online, it will be very sad if I'm unable to play online. I do have Just play 2019 original game however if I intend to jailbreak and played other pirated game, my account will be ban?

If you don't wan't to be banned its better to wait for a stable emunand release and do what @AD2076 said, Pirated games, save editing and all that stuff on emunand, online play on clean sysnand

The question is whether or not you're going to want to buy a dongle, as many dongles come with jigs included.

The point of the dongle is to push a payload to your Switch while it's in RCM mode. You'll have to do this any time you turn your Switch back on after turning it off, at least whenever you want to run CFW. You won't need it when waking up the Switch out of sleep mode, though.

You can send the payloads from a PC or an Android phone if you use the right USB-C cable and software, but using a dongle makes the whole process a lot easier.

Right now I'd recommend the RCMloader One: https://www.xkit.xyz/rcmloader/ (You'll have to find a place to buy it from, you can find it on Amazon or AliExpress but usually it gets shipped from China, so you'll be waiting for a month)

I'm waiting for the DragonInjector to get released, it basically is a dongle in the shape of a Switch cartridge, but it's still a work in progress. There is no need to buy SX OS license, atmosphere has a free emunand. I don't know how it it works though, I am not using it. Other users should be able to help you with that.

So to jailbreak is just to get CFW to work. And from there I need to download more stuff in order to play other pirated games? Am i right?

yes after you achieve cfw on your switch. youll need to find nsp files (switch games) and install them with any of the many installers. i like lithuim

also, you may want to, at least, look at (gets shield to defend from flame) SX OS. its really simple to gain cfw. thats why i got it

Basically, Emunand is where you to take a backup of your system's internal memory (aka a Nand Backup) and store it on your SD card. While using CFW, all writes and reads go to the backup that's on your SD card instead of your actual system's internal memory.

This allows you to use your Switch as if it was two different Switches - in most cases, one that's completely stock, and can be used to play legit games online, and one that's been hacked with Emunand where you can play with all your homebrew, mods, cheats, and pirated games. You want to keep Emunand offline though, because if it gets banned your "stock" Switch is banned too.

The nice thing about it is you can keep all your hacks confined to an SD card, and if you pull the SD card out your Switch is no different from any other stock, unmodded Switch.
