Any time I try to start a backup from USB Loader GX, it increments my playcount and then boots back to the homebrew channel. I have priiloader that autoboots to homebrew anyways, so I tried setting it to boot to wii menu to see if it just reboots my wii, but it specifically goes straight to homebrew. I've checked and doublechecked the title format, I set it with Wii Backup Manager and have it move the files to the USB from there, all of it hasn't stopped it, it still just boots straight back to homebrew. Like I said, it still registers that I start a game, because the playcount for these games goes up each time this happens, but I have yet to get into the games proper. I'm on the latest version of USBLGX that's on the sourceforce, 3.0 r1271. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

you either didn't install d2x cIOS base57 in slot249, or you plugged the USB in the wrong port.
plug in USB Port0, back-bottom port on Wii.
for cIOS installation guide :

only install one, you don't need both (even if the guide tells you).

the guide is only a "guide", not the only way. Change what the guide tells you to do and do it like I said.

Ah ok, the cIOS thing was what I needed, I wasn't aware that I needed to do stuff with it for it to work, thank you!
hey cyan i'm having the same problem, i dont have cIOS d2x, my current IOS is 58, do i have to install ios 56 and 57 like the site said?

no, you already have IOS56 and IOS57.
You need PATCHED IOS57 !
the patched IOS57 need to be installed in slot 249.
so your slot249 is "based on 57" using d2x patcher v8 or v10 r52.
this is what it means :
slot249 : d2x v8 base57
slot : 249 (destination slot to install the NEW IOS into)
d2x : v8 (version of the IOS patcher)
base : 57 (original clean official IOS Slot used as base for the new copy patched IOS)
the patcher makes a copy of IOS57 into IOS249, then patch IOS249 to add USB support. so your loader must use "slot249", which is IOS57 with USB support!
NEVER touch or replace or install IOS56 or 57. they are used as "base" only for the newly patched IOS installed in a new slot.
Slot56 or Slot57 MUST STAY OFFICIAL and untouched, unpatched.
if you have the same problem, then it's the same solution !

im doing it, i was in the middle of downloading ios 56 and 57, so do i need to keep going on installing it or do i just install ios 2dx on slot 249?
You can do an offline install if you have the correct WADs for IOS56/IOS57 but you don't need them. An online install works just fine.

don't download IOS56 or IOS57.
just download the installer, run it, choose what you want to install. done.
1. get this package contains all d2x version for Wii.
d2x installer 3.1 with v6 v7 v8 v10 v10-alt for Wii
d2x installer 2.2 mod, with v10 and v10-alt for vWii ONLY
2. extract EVERYTHING (keep the folder structure!) in apps/d2x_installer/ folder.
3. If you are on Wii, be sure your network is working on Wii : Wifi setup and internet available. No Nintendo server blocked or filtered (for WiiU or Switch hack, you might have blocked Nintendo update servers, be sure it's not filtered)
On vWii, the installer 2.2mod is always working offline and using INTERNAL base, you don't need to get base IOS manually ! Skip this step entirely !
4. run the installer from HBC.
5. if you are on Wii, choose this :
What : d2x v8 final
where : 249
base : 57
version : 21008
(I prefer v8, but you can choose v10 and 21010 if you want, just NEVER use v10-alt !)
If you are in vWii, choose :

did you ever hack a WiiU or a switch or a 3DS ?
no ? then it's not filtered.
yes ? did you edit network parameter to use specific DNS IP addresses on your console? then it's not filtered. (your console are filtered individually, not your Wii)
if you ever used a proxy, edited the router's DNS, or entered specific nintendo URL manually in your router's firewall to prevent updating your 3DS/wiiU/Switch, then it's filtered ! (all your network is filtering nintendo servers and affecting all your consoles at the same time)

if you never touched your router's setting to prevent updating a console, then you don't have do worry about the Wii blocked from nintendo's servers.
at worse, your 2DS has a protection for itself affecting only your 2DS. At best, it doesn't need any protection and has no filter in place.
