Back then you could play pirated games online without getting banned. Only cheating in Mario Kart got you a (well deserved) ban.

I’m trying to compare the Wii to the Switch. You wont play pirated Switch games online for long.
I wish I could use mods and homebrew on the switch without getting banned

Same. I don't pirate because if I do I'll go crazy trying to hoard every single fucking game; I like physical games too. It would be nice to be able to overclock, raise resolutions and remove 30fps caps without getting banned.
Get a PC that can handle the Yuzu emulator, I think it’s possible on there

The Wii days where so much Fun still have mine hooked up to the TV mine has both a mod chip and the soft mod but I really do need to update my softmod been such a long time since I done any of that stuff
Same. Charity shop was closing down the other day. Wii (GC ports version of course) with two wiimotes, whole bunch of accessories, and about 10 games (mario kart and mario galaxy in the mix) for £15. Could not get my wallet out fast enough, indeed it is was probably like one of those appearing card tricks.My Wii Days are now
@FAST6191 I got a Wii 2nd year of release premodded with WiiKey I think I remember anticipating Homebrew with Twilight Princess Hack waiting for it to be released and then BootMii Homebrew Channel.
I had Mario Galaxy, Links Crossbow Training, Zelda Twilight Princess Red Steel and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles only two of them legit Links Crossbow Training and Zelda Twilight Princess.
Enjoyed it for the most part then came Wii64 and other Emulators and of course Wanninkokos work cant remember the name exactly but remember the first ISO Loaders Leaks and eventually GameCube.
It pretty good to see how far we came since then USBLoaderGX and WiiFlow or Configurable USB Loader.
I only ever needed USB Loader GX but kind of got into 360 and PS3 and Wii just gathered dust.
I bought my XBOX. Wii. JTAGXBOX360. all from same place can't remember name but they got raided by Nintendo.
Got a WiiU in June 2016 and that has been my favourite ever since does everything Nintendo except 3DS and Switch and now Wii is back in action now for me have not tryed online though only wiiu games I wish the Homebrew was better though I would love to make my own projects or improve upon Wii64 but think I trying to run before I can even crawl need to start learning C Languages first lol.

Not with my shit laptop and it's 300MHz GPU. I'd get better results running Windows on my Switch.
EDIT: And when I tried updating the drivers I broke something and the GPU got disabled. I had to reformat my laptop to fix the crippling slowdown.
