I'm running SX OS and use only XCIs to avoid potential bans (working great so far). However, there are some games that are NSP only that I want to play. My question is, if I were to convert them from NSP to XCI, would there be any carryover of ban risk like the original NSP, or will it be as safe as any old XCI?

EDIT:

For those asking about emuNAND, yes I do use it.

I play all XCIs on emuNAND, stealth mode, and 90DNS. I connect on local WiFi just for home brew stuff, never to play games.

On my sysNAND I go online to play my legit games.

So it sounds like NSP to XCI on emuNAND setup like mine are safe?

If the game doesn't exist as a cart (which xci dumps normally come from), and you go online after using it, that's pretty much a flag for Nintendo to ban you. That said, if you only use it in emuNAND, and not sysNAND, and you go online only in sysNAND, there is no concern for a ban risk. And you can use any nsp you want in emuNAND, no need to convert to xci, unless you want to mount them from a hard disk.

been using Custom XCI since it started as a thing since not all games is in Cart type and haven't been ban yet but i never go online with it (obvious reason). I only go online on my legit cart.

It's not possible to get banned for this. Custom XCI removes secret DRM files so Nintendo can't catch you .

Where did you read that?

I second this, can you provide your source(s)? is it verified with evidence to back up those claims? and NO your facebook feed doesn't count as verified.

On the topic of NSP to XCI, another great use for this is combining game updates and DLC's into a single XCI, instead of having XCI with separate NSP update and DLC, why not have it all in one single XCI?
Another use for me is I use EmuNand, having NSP as XCI, if my EmuNand ever goes pear shaped, the pain of having to re install ALL the NSP again is time consuming, so XCI is a life saver and time in this scenario.

Forgot to add, NSP to XCI and standard XCI's are always played on EmuNand and OFFLINE for me, never online, I do all legit stuff in SysNand.

yes theoractically,
the XCI is a game card but when you play for example Warframe (no game card avaiable) then Nintendo wont have problems to detect it
BUT idk if they track these things

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

btw you can use EmuNAND its safer than using the real NAND and then you can delete all Network settings on your EmuNAND
