I've been using mGBA on the switch and it works amazing. I went to play Wario Ware twisted but then realised you need to turn the gba to play. I tried tilting the switch and it worked perfectly and it really amazed me. Do all emulators support this? How did the creator manage to use the switch gyro in the emulator?
Should I be impressed or is this just a standard feature?

I believe the gyro is something that could be simple to implement into a emulator. Let's say there is a Wii emulator (won't happen but let's say it does) , the emulator will use the right joycon like the game World of Goo.

I detached the joycons and it is indeed the right joycon which is being used :)

Actually made me better at the game as it's much easier to rotate a single joycon than the whole system lol

There is a Wii emulator that supports gyro controls for gba games, but from what I remember it doesn't work very well.

Dont they both have gyro? As they can be used as an individual controller. For example there are Mario party mini games which require gyro so they both must have it

I'd imagine emulating tilt is not much more complicated than emulating any other button press. I mean, Dolphin has been able to emulate motion controls for a very long time, we have emulators that can emulate light guns and rumble support.

I'm just waiting for a good N64 emulator to come out that supports Hey You Pikachu's microphone input.

That's pretty awesome, I bought WarioWare Twisted recently on eBay but the gyro is messed up. Hopefully mGBA also emulates Twisted's rumble as well, then it'll be absolutely perfect.

Actually, the Switch unit itself also has a gyro, but not many people knew this until the Labo VR kit (myself included). With the Switch tablet in VR mode, no Joy-Con at all, it uses the gyroscope and maybe accelerometers to track your head.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
