This is because you disabled framebuffer emulation. CBFD uses framebuffer to render shadow and the box is essentially the shadow. Turning framebuffer on and the game renders perfect, although quite slowly for me (haven't tried the latest core yet).

Mr Homebrew has a homebrew pack ready to go as a download link on his youtube channel. I suggest downloading it and replacing your retroarch folder.
I appreciate the work that @m4xw is doing with this core. However, I don't understand why he can't keep his OP's updated with current cores/links, and best configs.. It would stop a lot of peoples questions on best use and such..
Mystical Ninja 2 runs flawlessly and looks amazing. No overclock, either. The first 1 needs some tinkering, but I am on the second and it's too good to stop, lol.
I'm using the Mupen with the config file from just before March 15th because most everything I throw at it is flawless. Don't remember which one because their names are similar, but maybe a user in 1 of these many N64 threads will be able to let you know.

I remember back in the old days like 2003 with my original account.. People weren't dicks here. Dev's talked to users and vise versa. It was great. Now everyone is so elitist and it's just a shit attitude to have.
Take a look at psx-place.com. The dev's have no problem helping out end users. It's great. That's what Gbatemp used to be like...

It will corrupt save files. Then you will need to load it via the original japan version, save and load it again in the romhack.

yeah i saw something like that but didnt know what happened but to be honest it plays so my plan was just to like binge play it one weekend making that like no problem his menu issue got fixed btw
