Hey. I can’t figure out how to load Linux on the switch. I put the os on the sad card by writing the os to the sad card, put the sad card in the switch, connect my switch to my pc and run the Linux-macOS-boot.sh cause I run a Linux pc, and I make sure my switch is in rcm mode, and nothing happens. If I hold won the power button it just boots to horizonOS. Any help is appreciated!

Hi all,

I'm sorry if this has been asked for 100 times before.

If I wanted to update to the latest firmware on ofwnand and stay on let's say 6.0.0 in emunand is it not possible as sx os is not supporting 7.0 now?

And also we will also need to use autorcm to start ofw with latest version? Thanks.

6.2 is supported on emunand, 7.0.x is allowed for sysnand, use latest sxos version

I don't know if you guys can help but i bought a used switch and it worked for a while but now while in handheld mode it crashes and shows the error 2162-0002 restart console message, and sometimes it shows the orange screen.
I've tried formating everything updating and before cfw, but it always does it in handheld mode.
In docked it works perfectly fine never crashed or errored. is there a fix?

6.2 is supported on emunand, 7.0.x is allowed for sysnand, use latest sxos version

So this means I can safely update my sysnand to latest version using choidojournx? Or do I do this via Nintendo switch sysnand? Sorry for the confusion.

I know I can update sx os using choidojournx to 6.2 but I'm more concerned on the sysnand as many users is having issue after updating to latest version on sysnand.

But I'm assuming because sysnand and emunand works separately this should be technically fine?

Hi, Switch noob here.

Just bought a Switch a couple days ago and got CFW set up last night, but I'm having some issues. I used the sdsetup guide/zip package. I booted up Atmosphere and tried installing a game through Tinfoil, which ended up showing up as a white loading box on my home screen and eventually disappeared. Tried again with Goldleaf and installing just crashed my system. Anyone know what gives?

Edit: I'm on firmware version 4.1.0 still, if that matters. Wasn't sure if I should update or not.

Is Atmosphere CFW officially out yet?
Also, how many stable homebrew Switch themes are available ATM?
Yes although they haven't released a 1.0 build containing all of the features they promised, most notably EmuNAND, it has had official releases starting at 0.7 and the latest is 0.8.3. And there are plenty of themes available if you look around.

Are you sure you're installing a game and not an update or DLC? You can also try updating your firmware which I recommend doing with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX. And ensure you are using the 883e build from the Lavatech build bot for Tinfoil or the recommended NRO from the Fluffy thread.

Thanks for your reply, I'll try that tonight! Should I be updating to 6.0 or 7.0? I'll try that build - it seems like all the homebrew apps included with the sdsetup package I installed were old versions. And I believe I was installing a game and not an update, it was Mario Party which didn't look like it had an update or DLC, but I'll double check to be sure.

No CFW supports 7.0. I should have recommended 6.2 as its the last firmware before 6.2. And since you were trying to install Mario Party, then I know it was because your firmware is too low because that game requires a firmware of 5.1

Gotcha, I should have looked that up before installing. Thanks for your help!

Currently my sysNAND and emuNAND are on 6.0.1 and everything is working great, but I want update my emuNAND to 6.2.0 as there are a couple of games I want to play which require it.

I have a couple of questions:

1) When using ChoiDujourNX and selecting whether to use exFAT or no-exFAT (FAT32) is this asking me the format of the existing emuNAND, or is it asking whether to install the exFAT update when it does the the 6.2.0 update?

2) I use SX-OS and have RCM enabled.
Do I still need to choose to enable autoRCM in ChoiDujourNX or will that cause any problems and I should leave it off (as it's already on)?

3) Are the instructions from this post still correct / valid?
(Other than version numbers etc, as I see it's an older post)

Thanks.

1) second option
2) it enables it automatically, don't worry
3) can't help you there since im not an SX OS user

1) So I can safely choose 6.0.2 (exFAT) even though I currently use FAT32?
Alll it will do is enable the exFAT update so the Switch can read exFAT SD cards, and won't cause any issues between my existing FAT32 filesystem and using the exFAT update?

2) Yeah I understand that, what I mean is will it cause any problems having 2 different tools enable RCM mode?
ie. RCM is already enabled, will setting it to be enabled in ChoiDujourNX when it's already enabled cause any issues?

For anyone else in future wondering the same thing - I just updated and all went fine, am now on 6.2.0 on my emuNAND.
  1. Copied ChoiDujourNX and the 6.2.0 firmware files to the 'sxos' folder on the root of my SD.
  2. Booted into SXOS emuNAND (verified by checking text at top right in the Album).
  3. Launched ChoiDujourNX from the Homebrew menu.
  4. Selected the folder the 6.2.0 firmware files were in and followed the on-screen instructions, choosing "6.2.0 exFAT" when asked.
  5. Kept RCM Enabled (even though ti was already enabled via SXOS) and started the update.
  6. Once finished I clicked to reboot, then chose "Shutdown".
  7. Opened Tegra, plugged the USB-C cable into my Switch and sent the SX payload.
  8. Switch booted into emuNAND and is showing firmware version 6.2.0 in System Settings > Sysem.
  9. Games that require 6.2.0 firmware now work.
Hopefully that will help someone in the future.
