Your save file for that game is likely not in the right place.
https://3ds.eiphax.tech/private.7z
Make sure to extract (i.e. decompress) that file and place the /private folder in your sd card's root (beside boot.nds).

Edit: I've attached a zip of the two files that might give you trouble (because you have to install a Windows program to extract them).
You can open the SD_files.zip and put the files inside on the sd root.
Ok. Thank you very much! I will pick up on this in the morning.

Thanks for the info. I determined that I put it in the correct place but when you extract the files, the folder structure has two levels of the private folder. private>private

Eliminating one of the private folders corrected the problem.

It worked and I'm on to the next part. Thank you!

Once you have finished the process, you should restore your DS Internet Settings by copying the DSiWare .bin file from the "clean" folder in the fredtool_output folder from earlier to SD > Nintendo 3DS > [id0] > [id1] > DSiWare, then restoring it in System Settings > Data Management > DSiWare > SD card > tap the game > Copy

I must not be doing something incorrectly here because when I go back into DS Connection Settings, it goes to the JPN Flipnote still. I copied the file from the clean folder to the DSiWare folder. There are two files there now.

I've completed everything. (with the exception of restoring ds connection settings) It seems to be working. Everything went as the guide described.

Great job!

You can restore that DS internet by moving the .bin file in the clean folder and overwriting the one that exists there already. Then you should be able to import that clean file and get DS internet back. There should only ever be one file in your sd card's Nintendo DSiWare folder (unless you've exported other dsiware games you own).

Ok. I think im good now. When I click DS Connections it brings up stuff about Wifi Connection settings.

Just make a nand backup as soon as you can.
Was this part of the guide? It had me copy and backup a large file. Was that the "nand"?

Did she DL it?

Sometimes, Ninty will "recommend" games.....by that I mean, "Hey you want this? No? Too bad, it's here."

You can delete it by opening it.
No doesnt look like they are downloaded. Still not sure how to delete.

This checkpoint app seems to like to freeze at startup alot.

I mean...if you open it, there should be a prompt to actually download it or delete it. This happened to me with boxboy.

Do you have saves for checkpoint to load? If not, are you giving it enough time to read all of your games? It may even be an issue of a version that needs updating.....but the latter is speculation.

I got it. Sorry. If you click "Cancel" it gives you an option to DELETE. DONE!

No. Three times I had to hard power off. After restart the app loads quickly. I've done what I need for now. :)

Well one less problem is one less Problem, so I'm glad you got that solved.

The creator of checkpoint has an account on this site, so if you really, really exhaust every resource, ask him about it. Maybe note anything that's really specific, like error codes, if any appear.

Is there a guide for FBI? I see guides for Luma, Godmode9 but not some of the others installed from the guide instructions.

Do you install .nds games using FBI also?

On to unit number 3. I would like to take this time to offer up a recommendation for Nintendo repair service. My boys broke their 2DSXL top screen. I contacted local companies and they all wanted $99 to repair it. I contacted Nintendo reluctantly for some reason (just a bad assumption that I could have it fixed cheaper somewhere else). Breakage isn't covered obviously but I learned they only charge $50 plus tax and $10 for shipping (2DSXL)(n3DS & n3DSXL are $85 plus tax and shipping).

After speaking to the friendly representative and explaining that the unit was almost new and my disappointment with how easily the unit was broken (these were given to my boys by grandparents so I didn't choose them) and how flimsy the top is she said she would do two things. 1. Discount the repair by $25. 2. Waive the shipping cost 3. Overnight it back to me once repairs were completed.

To be clear, the total repair (including UPS shipping there and UPS OVERNIGHT shipping back) cost me a whopping $27.06! After getting off the phone I was thinking "is this some scam"?? lol

I'll add that at no time did I get rude, raise my voice or ask for a supervisor. All of which I am good at doing.

I got the DS back this morning. Looks great!

Shipped Out: 01/17/19 (they provided link for UPS shipping label)
Delivered: 01/21/19

Shipped Back: 01/23/19
Delivered: 01/24/19

7 days round trip!

They only had it 2 days. Can’t beat that. They promised me to send it back overnight and that’s what they did. I’m impressed with Nintendo. Other companies should take notice!

I'm feeling fortunate! Probably wouldn't expect the same special treatment for repeat offenses but even at the normal $60, that sure beats $99 and you know its done right.

I'm wondering if the the entire top part was replaced versus just an internal screen replacement. The adhesive black cover doesn't look disturbed at all but it could have been replaced or just done really well. Regardless, I am extremely happy with the repair.

I hope this is helpful to anyone considering Nintendo for repairs. I'm sure others have much more experience with Nintendo but they have earned MY confidence.
