Homebrew Where to place samples folder for Retroarch Mame2003?

i was wondering where do i place the samples folder for retroarch mame 2003? samples for games like donkey kong etc.
i've done some searching and can't seem to find the info i'm looking for.
any help would be great guys.

thanks for the reply. i did figure it out myself a few weeks back by checking forum posts for other system ports.
i could not find no answer for the wii-u port but lucky enough the solution you posted was the same for another port as wii-u. i treid it and it worked.
this info should be documented somewhere for retroarch mame. missing samples would suck with those games that need it.

Thank you for posting this. I have this issues on my Wii and could not find any documentation.

EDIT:
Wii uses MAME2000 (0.37b5), RetroArch 1.7.6. Had to place the sounds "samples" folder in the same directory as ROMs and requires compatible ROMs and samples files too.

Wii (not WiiU)
MAME2000 (0.37b5) = ROMS dir.
MAME2003-Plus (0.78) = SD:\retroarch\system\mame2003-plus\samples



SD:/retroarch/cores/system/mame2003/samples/
