I haven't hacked my Switch yet. How would I get the save that I open with the editor? Do I use something like Checkpoint?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Just got an online ban tied to my Nintendo account for Smash Ultimate for editing my save, please be careful when modifying your save. Don't do anything too drastic, Nintendo can very well tell when you're playing legitimately or not.

Are infinite money/spirit snacks/tickets considered too drastic? I noticed this game keeps a log of everything unlocked.

I would most definitely assume so. I posted this in the other thread, but it's worth retelling here as well. Yes, the game logs a lot of what you've collected. For gold, it logs how many you have earned in total, and how many you've spent. So if your amount spent is higher than the amount you've earned; for example, by using max amount of coins cheat and then buying from the shop, it'll be proof that you've hacked. The game also logs SP points, but since it has no log for how much you've spent, I'll assume you'll be fine just so long as your inventory is not above the obtained stat. Same goes for gold, but gold is more riskier, as I just mentioned, it keeps track of how much you spend.

For spirits, it's the same deal. You'll get a stat for how many you've collected, how many you've dismissed, and how many you've summoned. Giving yourself all spirits through hacking will not change these stat values, so they also pose as dead giveaways for tampering with your save file. As for spirit snacks and tickets, those don't seem to be logged, so you're fine there. Bottom line, just the stat records are enough for Nintendo to flag and eventually ban you from online.

Will this be able to unlock the limited-time-only event Spirits for those who miss them? Like the Dice Block, Gold Mushroom, and River Rafting Spirits that will become unobtainable very soon?

Can it unlock limited-time event spirits, like the dice block, the river survival, the golden dash mushroom... ?

The post above yours literally just answered your question. No, the save editor only works on V1.0. Any spirits that are brought to the game through events, are not unlockable through the editor.

looks like nintendo is recently banning users for using modded saves (i guess it has something to do with the new japanese law regarding save editing) so until we know for certain what are they checking for to hand out these bans i think its safer not to update the editor (and do so when we know what is safe and what is not) to prevent new bans.
(also im quite busy these days so i couldnt update even if i wanted)

I may be naive as to how these security checks work, but my guess would be the logs/records found in the vault. If they don't match up to what you currently have in your inventory; for example, having 9,999,999 Gold, All Spirits, All Cores, etc. But the stats for Gold Earned, Spirits Collected, Spirits Summoned, Spirits Dismissed, etc. show 0, that would easily be the biggest giveaway to you tampering with your save file. If there was a way for us to alter these records, perhaps that would add an extra layer of discreetness. Because I don't know if there is a way for Nintendo to detect if save data had modifications, they're probably just going after what's in the log and comparing them to your inventory.

Since the editor only works for 1.0 - 1.1, is there a way to make it work for 1.2.1 version of Smash Ultimate? The editor won't save the changes and my switch is firmware is 6.2.0 with Atmosphere. So there is no way for me to play/run it without updating it. Crossing my fingers for a solution or another update.

Complete newbie here when it comes to hacking this stuff. Just downloaded the file. How do I add it to my Switch and get the file implemented, so I can open the full roster. That's all I want to do with the file. But I don't know how to get it on my Switch. Any help would be much appreciated.
