Hello all,

This isn't EXACTLY GBA, but it is game boy, and GBA-compatible.

I am wanting to dump the pictures off of my Game Boy Camera. I know that some dedicated devices exist to do this, but I have also heard that there is a software to do it which runs on the N64 using a flashcart (ie. Everdrive 64) and a Transfer Pak, both of which I already own. I would like to do this, but I cannot find the software required. I saw one program, GB64 v0.3, that I got from this link:

http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=2298.0

As I understand it, this software should be able to save the photos off of the GB Camera by copying the RAM data to the SD card, which can then be opened with an emulator and used to dump the images through taking screenshots of the emulator while it displays the photo album. However, I cannot get this software to recognize any game carts that I own, despite trying multiple kinds (GB, GBC, Camera, etc.)

Is this the correct software for the job, and can I get this to work in that way, or do I need to get something else? And if it's the correct software, then can anyone tell me what I'm doing incorrectly? Thank you.

you need to use the ibgbpak demo tool (gb64_v0633_beta.zip) tool to dump the SRAM content of your GB Camera. Put it on your ED64, plug the N64 Transfer Pak into your controller, connect your GB Camera and run the tool. It'll show you on-screen instructions on how to dump the SRAM. Once done, power off your N64 and copy the dump from your ED64 SD Card. You can then get the images straight from the SRAM dump using the "GB Camer Dump V1.0b" tool from this site:

Hi Localhorst86, thank you for clarifying what I need to do. Unfortunately, it seems that newer versions of gb64 (including the gb64_v0633_beta which you pointed out) are no longer available online. The links in that thread are dead, with repeated requests by users to re-upload it.

Would you (or anyone else) happen to have a copy of the newer gb64 versions that you could share? It may be helpful to others if that file were re-uploaded.

I might not have the latest version around at home, but i'll look whatever version I currently have on my ED64 once I get home. I know I have used this to dump the GB Camera in the past.

Thank you for that attachment. Unfortunately it seems I still can't get a working read. In fact, the only game I can get to read correctly (of the limited titles I have on hand) is Dragonheart for GB, which is funny as that game has no save data at all, and even then it reports an error on dumping the rom.

Is there maybe more to it, like the model of SD card, the region of the system (mine is NTSC), or am I perhaps just out of luck? I can read carts fine with the transfer pak it seems (Mario Tennis 64 has no issues) and the everdrive runs without a problem. I'm just not getting any successful reads off of most of my games.

Make sure that your transfer pak and Camera are properly seated, the tool seems to be very picky about the connection

What kind of everdrive do you have? AFAIK the attached version only supports V2, V2.5 and V3 ED64s
V1 ED64 requires a unique binary that I don't have.

Also: if the tool does not recognize the cartridge on the first boot, try exiting the tool and restarting
