i did but i was on 4.0.1 and my fuses r now on 6.1.0, i guess that backup is useless now?

I'm afraid so. You can still technically boot the backup using Hekate and choose the stock firmware option. But Sleep mode will be broken unless you update it to match your current fuses, and I doubt you can update it to newest Firmware without risking a ban.

Hmmmm so ur saying i could restore my nand backup, then boot into stock then reflash to latest version and then do a backup and theorically everything will be wipe clean to do a fresh nand backup on 6.1.0?

I have installed Reinx 1.7 on my switch (my frameware is 6.1.0)
also installed bunch of nsp games via tinfoil
but I can't enter any game. when I click on game icon (for example zelda) I encounter the message checking and then system says connect to internet (but i didnt do that, I know its dangerous)
what should I do?
also in system information my frameware version is still 6.1.0... not Reinx 6.1.0...
p.s: sorry for being too n00b, its my first time

Well, I've learned myself that nsp games require online activiation on 6.1.0
I also tried latest SD files which was supposed solve the problem but it didnt change anything
Also I tried Rajnx latest update but so far I had no luck entering my nsp games.
But I dont know, maybe I should have also updated tinfoil or reinstall my nsps, if thats so, please inform me.
Is there currently no way to fix this online activiation thing on 6.1.0?
If yes how should I downgrade? can you send me some video walkthourgh for downgradong and also 6.0.0 frameware?
thx in advance!

Have a question: Is there actually a reason to downgrade to a verdion lower than 6.1.0 if it‘s alteady installed? Because i bought a used board to exchange with my non working one and there is already 6.1.0 installed but with cfw it would be possible to downgrade if i got the info‘s correctly.
But i don‘t know a reason why using a lower firmware. Is there anything that‘s not working with 6.1.0?
As CFW i will be using SX OS and xci games instead of nsp ones.

Sounds to me like u installed the games but then u booted ur switch normally without using a payload, in order to run the games u need to run a payload, reinx, atmosphere, hekate, etc

I inject the Reinx payload everytime from my computer to switch and I see the Reinx anime like logo for a moment and after that nintendo logo appears and my console boots and then I have access to tinfoil and etc in gallery (and by having access to tinfoil, I've installed some nsps which but doesnt work and require online activiation)

Where I have gone wrong? I should execute Reinx via Hekate menu or something?

Hi guys. I own a Switch with FW 1.0 and never went online. Is there still a need to stay on FW 1.0? I would like to try homebrew soon and not sure if I should update to a higher FW first. Thanks

My split NSP files are not showing on tinfoil. I already made sure to tick the archive option and the file folder is renamed to .nsp

What am I missing here?

DevMenu is the only thing confirmed to not work on firmware 6.1. There is also a good possibility that Deja Vu, the private warmboot exploit, does not work on that firmware since a browser bug was patched in that firmware.

Yes and no. Yes because there are exploits only accessible to firmware 1.0 that don't require a USB cable and jig to load CFW/homebrew but no since very few games run on that firmware. I recommend using Atmosphere to update your firmware without burning fuses with ChoiDujourNX. Fuses primarily prevent downgrading so if they are never burnt, you can return to your original firmware at any time. You can follow this guide here: https://guide.sdsetup.com/#/

Did you put the folder in /tinfoi/nsp?

I have a switch on 5.1 that I hacked using this guide: https://pastebin.com/RR8hCg5K

I installed the exploits on that page and also installed devmenu using tinfoil. Beyond that, no changes (still on 5.1, etc.)

My plans so far are this:

1. copy all my physical carts to my internal SD (probably not hard, looks like data+save homebrew is common for this task)
2. install ultimate chicken horse

The second one is hard for me, I bought the game via accessing nintendo eshop on PC, it's my most-wanted switch game. But only later did I realize that it came out after the online update, which I wanted to avoid since I never plan to play online now that it costs money to do so. I avoided updating and hacked my system, and now I cannot access the eshop without getting an update prompt.

My question is, can I still get Ultimate Chicken Horse on my switch, given that I have hacked it and it is only on 5.1?

Thanks for any replies, really want to play this game!

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you can theoretically do this and have a completely clean nand backup at 6.1.0. However, I get the feeling that you already updated your hacked Nand to the newest version right? If you went online to do that (or if you have been online at any time with your hacked Nand), then I think re-requesting the update is gonna flag you for a ban. Just keep this in mind.

what about if i update using one of the safe methods? like ChoiDujourNX for example and then do a fresh NAND backup?

Problem with this is that you'd need to enter CFW to even be able to run ChoiDuJourNX, at which point your Clean Nand will likely no longer be "Clean".
