The gc firmware update comes around 4.0, earlier fw need the old version and later fw need the new version.

If you switch between 4.0 and 5.0 (or 6.0) then the gc firmware stays the same.

Your quote says my name (i even got a notification) but i never said that. Wrong person?

Hi,
I'm seeing so many conflicting reports - can I please confirm with someone 'in the know':

1. Can I use SXOS 2.0.1 to load ChoidujourNX.nro from the Homebrew screen, to upgrade 5.1 firmware to 6.0.1?
2. Do I need to uninstall my SXOS Auto RCM before doing the upgrade?
3. If I select to install Auto RCM after upgrade, do I need to reinstall Auto RCM via SX OS or is that it?

I don't want to use the other CFWs if possible - just after an easy solution with what I already know and am comfortable with (SX OS)!

Thank you all so much for any advise / info.
  1. I believe ChoiDujourNX works on SX OS V2.0+
  2. It does not matter since ChoiDujourNX will overwrite any AutoRCM that is installed prior
  3. No, use the AutoRCM from ChoiDujourNX. Its functionally the same as the one from SX OS

Successfully updated to 6.0.1 using SX OS 2.0.1. Whole process was very easy!

YOU GUYS ROCK! From the developers who make the homebrew to the helpful people on this forum, thank you so much!

Guys, I've read FAQ a couple of times, but still struggling with 6.0.0 update.
I have an error screen after trying to access the ChoiDujour in HomeBrew. I've downloaded nx-hbloader zip and placed files from 2 zips (nx-bloader_with... and nx-bloader-1.1) in the root of my SDcard. Still having the same black screen.

I guess I'm doing something wrong, but I need help from the profis :)
Thanks in advance!

you can downgrade to 6.0.0, there's no burnt fuse with 6.0.1.
edit: useful link : https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Fuses#Anti-downgrade
this link is on first post

while I'm here, Rajkosto could you add a script on first post to extract the update partition from an xci file?
that would be nice, saving time searching how to do it with hactool, Thank you :)
any game with 6.0.x ?

Hi. Which game is released with version 6.0.0 / 6.0.1

I'm having trouble to install the free celebration DLC from xenoblade and i'm afraid the only way to get it is to go online :/
(but i need to update 1st)

No games have it, but there are other ways of obtaining the firmware files (note: the 3 different bullet points).

I finally found it and installed 6.0.1.

But ReiNX and Hekate does not work anymore (maybe the files are a bit too old).
At least SX OS works.
But i guess i'll go back soon to 5.1 because i don't really like auto RCm, and i'm a bit afraid of this no GC thing, and sleep mode not working in 6.0.

My current goal is to find a way to load again my xenoblade save that does not want to load:/

For unknown reason it appears that i had a specific DLC which seems to not be available right now and needs a registration online that i never did >_<.
It's the free items for Torna's release celebration.

i'm trying to figure how to get it back, but that might be related to the previous NNID i removed :/
And i read online that the offer is done.

ReiNX and Hekate+Atmosphere have both worked fine on my end on firmware 6.0.1 (updated last night via ChoiDujourNX for testing purposes). Your files are most likely outdated and need updating.

Thanks for your answers.

I'll need to redo a clean set up of the files and .bin loaders because i can't partially reset them.

I was able to launch ReiNX, but only by launching hekate_ctcaer_4.2, then ReiNX from it. I used SD files 904.
Is it true that Sleep mode does not work with those files. I definitely can't keep that for now.

Any way, now that i'm on 6.0.1, I can download from Eshop. That's weird. Probably banned but not yet super banned Oo

Edit : God the save is working after redownloading corrupted data. F*** me, thx.

hey guys i am getting the following error 2144-0001
i am currently on 6.0.1 fw, my bad was i updated from ofw because i kept getting update nags when i was in tx cfw to launch nsps.

so after i updated my exfat mSD was not recognized anymore i kept getting a pop up "update your system to use your sdxc card" but nothing helped so i am trying to update 6.0.1 (even while i am on 6.0.1) using choidujour so that i can have the exfat patch applied..

i dont want to be forced to copy(recopy) 150+gb :C
maybe this happened to me because i previously actually used choidujour to update 5.1 to 6.0 before.
but this time (2days ago) i updated through ofw thought its fine that way too.

hopefully someone can help me out with this, i currently use a 4gb mSD fat32 formatted so that my switch reads it.
i get to hbm just fine, tx menu in album opens but the choidujour gives me that error.

  • Q: I just want to install exFAT on the current firmware version I already have. Can I do this using ChoiDujourNX ?
  • A: Absolutely, just place a folder containing the exFAT version of the firmware you are currently running and choose it inside ChoiDujourNX.
sorry but how do i find out what folder is containing the exFAT version of my fw? i am on latest 6.0.1 please enlighten me on this one.. like alittle more specific.

EDIT: alright guys dont mind i fixed my issue , here is how >>>> i used another sd card fat32 and just followed this guide right here > https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-universal-cfw-instalation-guide.517122/

and installed the fw again using exfat option and problem solved.

many thanks to you sir for choidujour !!!!

I would like to remove auto rcm after upgrading to 6.0.1 (choixdujour)

Have i to get back to my previous/original firmware version (official 5.1) ?
Also, i had a joycon update. Is it an issue if i get back to 5.1.

------------
Bonus question :
I'm not sure i understand this FAQ :

Q: I've never run firmware 4.0.0 or higher on my switch, so my gamecard controller firmware is still not updated. How do i make sure my gamecard controller works after i downgrade back to < 4.0.0 ?
A: When flashing the firmware image for any 4.0.0 or later firmware, ChoiDujourNX will generate a protective hekate_ipl.ini on your microsd, with a "PreventGCUpdate" launch target. You must ALWAYS boot using this launch target (or add kip1patch=nogc to any launch target you wish to use in the future) and use a Hekate that supports the kip1patch option (releases here do: https://github.com/rajkosto/hekate/releases) if you want to prevent use and updating of your GC controller firmware on firmware versions 4.0.0 and up.

It seems like I fucked up few thing with ReiNX, hekate and "PreventGCUpdate".
- I ran SXOS after Choixdujour update
- ReiNX/atmo didn't work
- I can't find "PreventGCUpdate" on the card while i remember having seen it once in Caeter menu (did not boot anyway :D)
Can you confirm that it is not a issue for me (because i can't downgrade below 5.1) ?
