that sounds great! but uhm where do i get those updates ? is there a tutorial somewhere

thanks in advance man
Game updates are copyrighted content much like the games themselves so you will need to look for those outside of this forum. However, they tend to be found in proximity of each other so wherever you downloaded your games from will likely house the updates as well.

so I have a theory that if I were to extract my cert from my switch and plug it into CDNSP would the games I download and then install on my own switch where I pulled the cert from be ok to go online?

Absolutely not. Because you are forging the ticket to install it, you never bought it so you don't have a valid RightsID.

Installed SX OS pro earlier tonight. Whats the best save back up tool to use? Best Splatoon 2 item editor? And can I update my official games as normal or will that require updating the system? Thanks to everyone who has answered so far

Try “x” and “bins”.

Once you have injected the payload and the Switch starts booting up you may remove SX Pro and the jig. You will not need them again until you reboot the system. Most of us just use sleep mode so only need to reboot if ejecting the SD card or in case of a crash.

The system firmware update files can be located on xbins using an FTP client such as Filezilla.

Uh...the console should charge normally if you remove the dongle. It'll only charge abnormally if you're in RCM with AutoRCM installed. Also, you can just remove the jig right after you boot into RCM as well as the dongle once you load the CFW.

EDIT: Ninja'd again XD

I prefer EdiZon, but Checkpoint works great as well. Also EdiZon doubles as a save editor as well. Not sure how about the best item editor, maybe check the rom hacking tools subforum for that. And you can update your games offline using any title manager (Tinfoil is the preferred choice) so long as you can find the respective update .NSP files.

Hello!
I tried reading about this where ever I could, but I still cannot really understand the details. Is there anyway of going online with a hacked Switch and not get banned? By that I mean maybe only going online by using the option of booting into OFW, or only running games that I own when online (lets say I have a couple of NSP games as well as some games I bought from the shop).

If you run ANY cfw, expect a ban.

If you don't want a ban and want to play online and still have a hacked switch. buy a second switch

Eh, I don`t care about the online. I just wanted to occasionally buy games I want, and maybe update to the latest version.

Okay, if you plan on running CFW on your switch, expect a ban at some point. There is no fully safe way to run CFW on a switch at this point. the safest thing you can do is a clean nand backup with hekate, do your hacking then restore it afterwards.

Well, I think I am boned since I already hacked and installed a NPS file to test:huh:. I wonder what is the point of booting into OFW option on OSX then if that does not prevent banning when going online!

IIRC they block certain data from been sent in OFW, in saying that we still don't know what nintendo look for when they ban

Yeah thought as much. Well, since I am already "infected", I will still only use my legit copies in the OFW and only go online when I absolutely need to and hope for the best.

Every custom firmware needs rcm to install but according to this guide if you're on 3.01< you don't need to boot into rcm? so no jig necessary. any information how to install a cfw without rcm?
