Use a bigger SD card? If it won't fit on your SD card, I don't know what else to tell youhi, second question. but first thanks draxzelex for the quick response. anyway, Im trying to put a 8gb nsp in my microsd but it says that the file its to big. any solution?
I'm assuming your SD card is formatted as FAT32 which means it cannot be transferred to the SD card. We also have no way of splitting .NSP files so you'll have to format the SD card to exFAT. However the console doesn't support exFAT out of the box; it either needs to be downloaded much like a system update or installed offline with hacks.its a 32gb sd card and it empty. maybe it needs to be formated in some format in particular?
Either insert an exFAT formatted SD card in OFW and let the console download the update or install it offline using ChoiDujourNX.my switch is in the last update (5.1 I think).
If you stay offline, you'll never get banned because it is a self-imposed ban. And there are different types of bans that can range from excluding eShop access and online play to losing game and system updates. If they caused a brick, Nintendo would most likely get hit with a lawsuit. All consoles support FAT32 out of the box but only support exFAT if you inserted an exFAT formatted SD card and are on the latest firmware at the time. All firmware except 1.0 support exFAT and must either be downloaded from Nintendo or installed via hacks. We also already have a coldboot exploit known as Fusee Gelee which all CFWs currently utilize. There are no other known exploits confirmed to work on 5.X firmwares.Hi, I'm planning on buying SX OS Pro and a 256gb microSD card (samsung EVO green).
My switch is firmware 5.1
If I want to go 100% offline, could I still be banned? (if yes, how?)
Is this an online-play ban or my console will brick?
Is there anything I need to know for the microSD to work (Fat32 / exFAT)?
If I don't care about coldboot (I don't even know the benefits of it), is it bad to have firmware 5.1?
Thanks in advance!
Yes but nothing exists that requires firmware 6.0 at the current time. And when firmware 6.0 becomes mandatory, the community will likely already have a solution such as CFW being updated to work with 6.0Thanks for your answers!
So basically, the only problem I'll have is when future games ask me to update to (let's say) firmware 6.X, right?
Yes because the .NSP games still show up on your home menu as well as the fake tickets being installed into your NAND. Even if you delete the fake tickets and icons, its possible other data is being stored elsewhere in the NAND.Maybe this is a really stupid question, but if I install nsp games to the SD card and remove it before going online, will I still get banned?
Yes, they should work no issues granted they don't get corrupted or anything like that which has been happening more and more with exFAT formatted SD cards. Can i install NSP games in one SD, then copy all the files from that SD, paste it on another SD and play the games no problem? Do i need to reinstall them?
There's a long winded explanation on why we can't just spoof higher firmwares to play games with higher requirements but I will just say there is a way to update to 5.1 whilst retaining the ability to downgrade to 2.3. Use ChoiDujourNX to update without burning fuses to 5.1. Fuses are the Switch's primary way of preventing downgrades; if they are not burnt, you can downgrade at will. Secondly, hackable Switch units are determined by their Serial Numbers. Check that thread for more detail on which numbers are exploitable.Hi all, I'm new just found out the switch can be hacked like a week ago. I've been holding my switch and waiting for a hack since Zelda came out. I'm still on 2.3.0. I already installed the SX OS 1.9.
So my question is, is there anyway to play newer games without upgrading the firmware? Like spoofing the cfw? Asking because u were able to with ps3s cfw.
My next question is if not then is there a way to manually update to 5.1? Or it isn't a good idea to do that?
Last question sorry. Which switches are hackable? I saw a page that it's based on serial no?
Thanks in advance for all the help. Hopefully I can contribute to the forum as I become more knowledgeable
Updating without burning fuses primary purpose is to allow downgrading to take advantage a yet to be released warmboot exploit on 4.x, but will stil reportedly require internet or at least WiFi access to run so it’s utility is small with all the cheap dongles available now.I have a 4.01 Switch. I have not yet updated. I am interested in backups/homebrew and the like, but am fearful of a ban and don't want to do anything until emuNAND is available.
Is there anything I can do allow me to homebrew in the future, even if I update now, but without risking a ban? (I keep reading things about updating without blowing fuses, or some sort of system image that I could restore to). More information would be helpful. Thanks.
Update to firmware 5.1 using ChoiDujourNX or by downloading it officially onto your console. My switch is on 3.0.1 and I want to use renix since that seems the best right now so my question is what firmware version would be best to upgrade to? I don't play on using carts or going online at all.
