My uncle was hacking my 3ds for me, I'm not sure what version it was but for him to finish he needed to download a certain game. He couldn't so he gave the 3ds back to me and I just continued to use it not completely hacked. I was a complete idiot and decided to update the 3ds. When I did it went to a black screen. Now the only things that lights up when I turn it on are the power and or the charging light if it's plugged in. The screen won't turn on and I can't turn it off so it just stays on until it runs out of power.

Does the blue light come on for a second and then turn off, or is the problem something else? Did you update recently? If you updated recently, you might need to add the Luma3DS nightly boot.firm to the root of your SD card in order for it to be compatible with 11.8 if you already have Luma3DS installed.

Yeah sorry I have limited information about this but I'm doing the best I can, the blue light does turn on, and stays on the screen just doesn't turn on, I've updated recently and that's when this problem started, I'll get the files on my computer as soon as I can .

When you meant recently were you on 11.7 or 11.8, 11.8 came out yesterday.

If possible it is a good idea to shows what contents is on the root of your SD card, can you boot up Luma3DS chainloader by holding down, start by power on?

Got any NAND by the chance of it?

It looks like you are on Arm9LoaderHax,

Option 1: Try the 7.0.5 Luma3DS file that Lacius suggested below,

Option2: See if you have any nand.bin file in the a9lh/files9 folders, if you dont have any nand backup, then you can do a CTRTransfer, the 9.2.0-20 nand might work for you, as far as I know 11.4 CTRTransfer doesnt work for some people on black screen, first thing after checking the files9 folder, put the SD card back and see if you can load up the chainloader.

There's a good chance you have neither A9LH nor B9S installed. In case you have A9LH installed, you should download this version of Luma3DS and put arm9loaderhax.bin onto your SD card, overwriting the one already there. Afterwards, attempt to boot the 3DS while holding Select.
