That's exactly what I was thinking of doing, just deleting everything off of it, creating a new user, with a new email address, and starting all over for that account. He's not going to miss much on his account anyways, I just wanted to try and use his same name, but I don't think that's possible. Maybe if I contact Ninty they might do it for me, who knows. If you have been reading about various developers then a) current understanding is the initially thought to be clean device might not have been so clean and b) that might have been a reaction to them -- if you have a hacker with advanced skills after you then you most certainly want to consider roadblocks. If you can link devices they own* then legally and morally it would be fine to ban them.
*this may also extend to former email addresses and accounts, or some variation on the theme (you might just want to note the internal keys/"serial" of the device if keeping email from deleted accounts would trouble privacy laws.
The PR backlash from doing it to a shared account like that will probably prevent it from happening if and when Nintendo start doing bans for the "peeps following a guide on the forums" style hacks. That said if it is a child account that could modify things a bit as you would arguably still be the controller/owner of that account.
If de linking accounts is something that will not be too much of a pain to you, possibly also starting a new profile on one or the other (think similar to what might happen if you sold it -- even coming from the same IP it might be a housemate, shared connection...) then there are worse courses of action. If I am running a proper security team and my ambition is to nail you to the wall then that would be fig leaf security, if Nintendo has to operate with PR in mind then yeah.
Suffice it to say though I would be quite surprised if your hacked one got banned and the other got pinged at the same time when it was clean.
Look how it comes up with it on mine and PC.View attachment 131836 look at how it shows up it definitely does not look like a question.
We're not broken up, that was just a story that I tried to make up to see if they'd work with me.Man i can't wait for "How can i ban my ex's Switch" all of a sudden this forum turned to Springer Show
Yes but to anyone on android the question tag does not always show so that is why you put a question mark at the end of any title that is a question otherwise it can end up looking like a clickbate threadLook how it comes up with it on mine and PC.
usually a ban will be console specific. If you use another switch, it won't be banned. I assume you were banned for cheating online, if you do it on the second switch, it could be banned. In extreme cases, nintendo can do IP bans, but that's unlikely
Yeah. That's false info. I didn't understand his questiondon't listen to this guy. Someone on here had 3 Switches. 2 had the same account and the 3rd only had the same info, but not nintendo ID and All 3 got banned. So if you don't want other switched or accounts to get banned you should have completely different info on everything if you're using more than one switch, but as for the one switch with 2 accounts yo no sey lol.
Hmm...Yes but to anyone on android the question tag does not always show so that is why you put a question mark at the end of any title that is a question otherwise it can end up looking like a clickbate thread
I'm not complaining, I fully understand the ramifications. I don't really play online anyway, nor would I want to play online with backups.... But it would be nice to not get banned, lol.Misleading title, but anyway
If you want to hack a console, don't complain about the ban, if a child account is banned, it's more likely the main account will be banned, same with the main account, if it banned, maybe all branch accounts will be banned also.
This is just my speculation, no one knows.
Like i said it does not always show. It depends on what version of android you have/which internet browser ect is being used. It is pretty much accepted by everyone on site that if you are asking a question the title must have a question mark at the end even if the question tag has been used.Hmm...
I'm still wonder, if i get banned, so it will ban my console or only ban my account.

From where I sit this is actually a quite a legit question/concern.lol and another one......
Person with a handful of posts and not many more days of being here made a good faith effort to title a thread properly and fell foul of a mobile browser issue*. I think we can safely leave it at what has already been said.Yes but to anyone on android the question tag does not always show so that is why you put a question mark at the end of any title that is a question otherwise it can end up looking like a clickbate thread
You...do realize that the "someone" you mentioned made two threads that said the same thing and one of their threads was deleted because it was obviously a troll post and the second thread just recently made and they joined very recently.don't listen to this guy. It will obviously ban the whole console and also your account, and if you change your account or format your console the ban will remain.I'm still wonder, if i get banned, so it will ban my console or only ban my account.

Hey if you don't want to be banned or risk being banned, wtf are you doing messing with homebrew? Honest question.Does anyone know or have an idea if my console gets banned, and I have a second switch that is a child's account that is linked to mine, will it get banned, too?
Dude, that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking about the second switch that had nothing to do with mine. It's just linked under a family account. THAT was the question.. Hey if don't want to be banned or risk being banned, wtf are you doing messing with homebrew? Honest question.
I'm telling you that if you are worried about being banned on any Switch, stop using the same accounts on multiple Switches. And stop using Homebrew right now. Period. You qre officially past the point of no return.Dude, that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking about the second switch that had nothing to do with mine. It's just linked under a family account. THAT was the question.
I fully know and accept the risks of Homebrew and getting banned. I just don't want my kids console banned because I'm the one f'ing around with Homebrew.
