I had around 40 gigs of backups on my SD card and they are not even on my SD card anymore

The space is still being used by them but they are not anywhere on the card

They were all XCI files so I dunno what kinda fuckery is afoot.

It says that my backup folder is corrupt.

Hello, I have a Switch with firmware 5.0.0, I would like to backup my saves (in order to transfer them to another Switch, but later, let's say in a few weeks or months)

Is there any way to do this currently on 5.0.0?

Hi, I used a paper clip several times to enter RCM mode. Since then, my joycon is no longer recognized by the switch, but I can still enter RCM mode with a screwdriver. I tried to change the rail on my right joycon, but it didn't work. Can you help me?

is your joycon not recognized by the Switch by sliding it? or by bluetooth?

Yes. It worked perfectly on my 5.0.2.

My switch is currently on 5.0.2. I have been using an RCM setup with a payload bin file for a while now, through the use of TegraRCMSmash. If I update, will that payload bin file break (as the payload was up to 5.0.2)

i've been looking in the respective thread but no discussion about that popped up

The update 5.1 only broke the homebrew menu that is publicly available. There is a launcher for the homebrew menu embedded in the work-in-progress CFW, Atmosphere, that still works on 5.1 but there is no compiled version of that at the moment. All payloads can and will always work on whatever firmware Nintendo releases because it takes advantage of a bug in the bootrom which cannot be patched out because the bootrom in the Nintendo Switch is read-only (i.e. it can load files but those files cannot be modified).

Hi,

I got my switch today, I updated from 3.0 to 5.1 (as I don't care about homebrews for now), waiting for cfw / piracy solution, as I read it's avaible for all switch, no matter what the firmware is, as B9S on 3DS.
I used the DNS here to block all futures updates, but when I try to play online in MK8DX, it's asking for Install or Run the homebrew Launcher :wtf:

Can't I just block all next updates (in case, we never know), while keeping all online functionalities (eshop, games...) ?

New user here, I was hoping to get some answers to some questions. I’m looking into getting into homebrew with my switch.

- My current firmware is 5.01, I hear that jumping the joycons will allow me to get into the homebrew stuff but should I either try and find a retail switch with v4 firmware or go ahead and stop updating my current switch and transfer my entire data to a new one?

- I saw a mario odyssey level editor, where does saves get stored on the switch? Cartridge or system itself? I’d like to play odyssey on both switches and not have my legit switch be compromised or the original save.

I bought a RCM jig and I have been trying to get it to work for weeks now but it doesn't work! I AM holding power and the + button, with the jig inserted, nothing. I have tried many different heights and have fiddled around with the jig. It literally just won't work!

Please..... can a life saver give me links/videos/instruction guides on how to format sd cards?
I would also like to know TIPS ON HOW TO AVOID UPDATES and Nintendo SERVERS.

The best thing to do is avoid going online on your modded device at all for the time being.

To format an SD card, put it into your computer, right click the SD card in the "My Computer" area and there will be a format option. There are some other settings you have to define there in the popup window when it comes up.

But I have no idea on how to use it to run homebrew menu on 5.1.0. I basically have a bunch of files on my SD that I downloaded from a tutorial long ago, and none of the compiled files seem to match.
