GBC Emulator port - khedgb (works on 5.0)

If you're having trouble with this (or don't want to deal with the problems it has) I recommend following this tutorial to play gb/gbc games in the excelent vba-next port.

Since retroarch isn't working on anything higher then 3.0 right now I ported the gameboy color emulator khedgb to the nintendo switch. (Works on all versions as far as I know)

Right now it doesn't have many features but it's enough to finally enjoy pokemon on the nintendo switch :)

Simply put the rom into sd:/switch/roms/gbc and start the homebrew.

This emulator can't detect when you used the ingame save-feature so you'll have to press the X-button every time after using the in-game save feature. Otherwise the save will get lost after restarting the emulator!

Please don't expect too much from this, I just made this so I could play pokemon and it's not going to get many features.

As soon as retroarch gets updated for 5.0 this will instantly become obsolete.

UPDATE:
Added audio support and proper scaling! (Many thanks @cpasjuste for the scaling-hint!)
UPDATE2:
Fixed a bug where after saving the game for a few times the emulator would crash.
UPDATE3:
Added joycon-analog-stick-support!
UPDATE4:
Removed the debug log.
UPDATE5:
Added a simple file picker! You can now play multiple roms :)
UPDATE6:
Audio is much better now (not perfect yet though). Many thanks to @renhei for the fix-suggestion!
UPDATE7:
Changed rompath from sd:/switch/roms to sd:/switch/roms/gbc in order to avoid confusion with the gba emulator. Also double joycons now work in unattached mode!

This is turning out to be a nice little emulator. The sound is so much better than before, but still a smidge off somehow. Now we can even choose files? What an improvement!

Just remember roms go in the gbc or GBA folder withing the roms folder itself.

GBA roms MUST be in the NEW LOCATION sd:/switch/roms/gba DUE TO NEW UPDATE

GBC roms MUST be in the NEW LOCATION sd:/switch/roms/gbc DUE TO NEW UPDATE

Did you move the roms to the new path?
Yeah, I move them and when i select a game, the switch screen goes black

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Try changing the rom name, if you keep it "rom.gbc", the game cannot run. (It was the problem for me)
I changed it, the new name is Pokémon Prism.gbc and It doesnt run

I'm 1000% percent sure they're in the right directory but I'm still getting the "Failed to open dir!" message on both emulators. I was using update 6 successfully but now I can't rollback because the download is gone :( Any ideas, @jakibaki?

edit: just quadruple-checked, yep they're in the right spot. Still not working. Oh well, I'll wait for an update.

Strangely, It didn't work for me at first, but it worked after I renamed them. Dunno if that will be helpful tho.

The "fix" for the folder not found issue that some here are experiencing is removing the gbc-folder from the sdcard and then creating it from ftpd.

For some reason the switch sometimes can't handle the new folder otherwise.

The sound does sound alot better, but is still at a higher pitch than what it normally is. Also the transitions in for example: SMBDX, from the world map to the level takes about 3 secs to load. If you can fix these two problems (which i assume isn't that hard) then this will be a perfect emulator until retroarch comes to the newer firmware versions!
