same error
I get an error when I try to overwrite botw save ERROR:0000F601 Failed to commit to save device. Any ideas what it could be?

Would you mind filing a proper Github issue here instead of reporting your problems in this thread?
I'm not even the OP, I'm not sure how would I read your error reports if you don't tell them directly to me.

Eh...

Creating a github account to report issues, when the dev is coming to another forum/place to so that his work gets visibility - shouldnt necessarily be required. Looking at it from purely a "what entity profits in what way" standpoint. There are several communities, that use "report it on the tracker" purely as a deflective meassure, so that no open discussions about issues are to be had.

There are projects like retroarch, that have optimized their forum engine to work and look like a tracker - which resultet in one of the most unusable forums out there.

If you produce homebrew - and you don't plan to look at reactions on at least one community platform. Dont produce homebrew. (Unless you are a coding god, that never makes mistakes.. ;) )

Using a third party platform is a power equalizer. If we talk about an issue here, the dev cant just mark it "minor", and send it to the netherrealms - kind of thing.

Also - its more fun to talk about issues in a social setting, than to always fill out support forms.

Negatives are obviously also present ("good reporting" vs "i have an issue").

Your sentences would make sense if I was the OP, but in this case I'm not, and I can't check every day every thread regarding Checkpoint just to see if there are new issues filed as comment. That's not how you're supposed to help me debugging my program and not a good way for you users to get your problems recognized and fixed early.

Wait, two questions:
  1. That BotW savegame website is now fully compatible with Switch saves (so no need to convert them to Wii U)?
  2. If I don't connect a Nintendo Account (I can't as I'm on 3.0.0 obviously) it doesn't count my play time for any game? Even if I connect it later (once I can use newest FW thanks to Atmosphere)? Would my playtime start at zero from the day on I connect my Nintendo Account? That would suck a bit (yes I'm one of those guys who loves to get the playtime tracked).
Yeah the gent uodated his website to support saves for switch aroynd may last year when the first saves got dumped by yellows8

I understand. Dont create so many threads.

We'll find those that you created, regardless of the platform (you'd probably be active in here and on reddit i quess).

I'm looking at this from a behavioristc, general perspective - and from a personal perspective. Reports on bugtrackers are written to die there. Reports in forums are written in a public venue. If you have a "empty" bug tracker at the end of the day (which never happens.. ;) ) , you dont necessarily have a software out there that people have no issues with. (Trueism. ;) )

Don't force people to use bugtrackers, even if its easier for you to do. Most of them wont. If you are blessed enough, that you have an active scene, thats reporting and fixing bugs in a bugtracker - all power to you, but it takes a very special person to partake in that. Namely the one that likes to fill out forms over other forms of social interaction. (= bugtrackers are boring, formalistic, filing systems - where you'd have to ask most people to spend their time in.).

edit: Also not directed at you as the OP, just so you see - that there are differing opinions about this out there.. ;)

Having had the experience of having bug reports moved to places where no one ever looks at them - I'd rather use forums.. ;)

Just as a heads up you can't use special characters in the file names when backing up. It causes the app to freeze and require a hard resest
Hey Sasori of the red sand, I'm not the dev. Would you mind opening a github issue for that? You're on github already so that shouldn't take too much of your time. :P

Savegames are stored in the nand, not on the sdcard - normaly. (As in, if you go with Nintendos concept - this homebrew allows you to store them on the sdcard as well (where they wont be accassed by the system).)

So you are saying all I would loose would be the actual game data from the sd card?

So if I format my sd as fat32 on my pc and stick it back in my switch all I will need to do is redownload my game data? As saves are on the nand/system.

So that is why people are backing up their nand. Any other benefit to backing up nand?

The reason to back up the nand is because of restore purposes. If something gets corrupted, there still is a chance to restore with a original nand backup.
Saves don't matter actually, these kind of tools are made for saves.

Rocket science, advanced class:

Save files are stored on "internal storage" (part of the nand), not on the sdcard.
If you want to switch to a new sdcard, take the old one out, put the new one in. Nand (and savegames) won't be affected.

If you want to backup your savegames regardless, you can use this tool. It will back them up to your sdcard. But Nintendos OS doesnt look for them there.

Also - please prepare on the midterm test on frozen fuel injection lines as well.

;)

You guys should really stop using hekate. Just be patient the last few days until Atmosphère comes out.
Unless you really know what you're doing you should avoid messing around with hekate. Just sayin'. :)

Also a quick note that I'll be adding to the first post soon as well:
Don't report bugs here as I'm not the dev (@EventAssistant is).
Create an issue here instead so the dev keeps track of everything.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
