Switch view to icon or list, hide/show icons option,
Sorting option, sort by file name or file size
Font size switching
Maybe these fall into the theme category, so probably a theme feature like EZIV would be really neat

Or just like kuwanger said really any improvements would be great. Thanks!:):grog:

the power consumption is adjustable by firmware upgrade.

if you read the review, you may notice the 3.0 firmware lower 10% consumption than stock firmware.

there is no complain about power consumption by Chinese users right now.
That's great and all, but 10% is still nothing when we're losing close to 40% in battery life, and power consumption.

But it's great to understand that it could be eater with updates. I hope to see more of that soon.

Thanks for the info :)

making (part of) your code open source for others to work on is brave and a step in the right direction if you want omega to be one of the final/best gba flashcards :)
i'm really happy with the decision.

@FAST6191 could we get reaffirm your testing results in terms of power consumption?
I am not sure what there is to really say. While I would like a better setup my measurement gear is accurate enough for this task and the results are what they are.

Basic physics would say that you are going to get proportionally less. In this case the end result will likely still be an acceptable lifetime in real terms -- the average AA cell (and as they are series wound then it is the same total for the 2 the GBA has) will have 1500+mAh (though the SP is a rather more modest 800 or so and my original DS is a bit more still) and if you are doing 200mA average (compared to the 100-110mA of an original cart, or 110-120mA of an original EZ4) it is still going to be enough for a commute, during lessons or for an evening like it would have been otherwise. This was probably the point attempting to be made in the post you quoted.
If you took your GBA + flash cart with you on safari and only have a small portable solar panel then yeah pick a less thirsty flash cart, if you are one of the 90% of people that invariably play something within 3m of a wall socket/USB charger or can chuck one of those power banks in your bag then yeah.
I am certainly going to note it in the review and would join others in encouraging the EZTeam to make it a very high priority fix (fix the NOR on original GBAs, fix the final fantasy tactics issues and anything like that first, then get on this) -- the 0.15A I saw in the Omega menu at points would add a notable amount on.

Any chance you guys could add SMSAdvance to go along with PocketNES and Goomba Color? That emulator is the only thing I can think of that's included in the Everdrive GBA but not the Omega.

Is there a "recently played" list? Would be a good option to have easy access to the last game(s) played when booting up instead of having to go through a whole list.

@EZ-Flash2 Would it be possible to implement a sound when the save file is written to the MicroSD card? Since now you have to wait a couple of seconds for the save file to be properly written, but their is no indication whether it actually worked. Hence, Im continuously scared of my save file being corrupted. Thereby comes that a couple of games on GBA, GBC or GB are auto-save (no actual save button within the game) and you never know when saving actually happens, let alone when the save file is written to the MicroSD card.

Hence, if you could implement a small *PING* sound that would really reassure the users of the Omega that their save file is written to the MicroSD card, then that would be really awesome. Don't know if it can be implemented, but Im just think out loud.

To implement this function, it needs to patch rom and does not support clean rom direct boot any more. are you sure?

The community then immediately recognizes that their version is a clone, and refuses to buy the product.
Is that a thing now is it? It wasn't before. Some might take a position against it but in all the scenes I saw then not so much. I don't know how the now somewhat smaller and "retro" GBA scene will modify things here (try and pull a fast one in the neo geo world and you will probably not get far, make some kind of PS2 clone device today and nobody will bat an eyelid).
EZ-Flash of all companies. Does nobody remember back when XG-Flash stole EZ-Flash sources and PCB designs and were all over the place with their shitty clone cartridge?

Instead of a sound, I think it would be better if the reset menu had some text to indicate when it's unsafe to reset. If that is implemented, I'd recommend the reset menu appear even when it's the only addon selected.

Whatever you decide, I really want Clean Boot to be kept.

add a notice text in the in-game menu or add a sound are possible. but the clean boot can not do that.

from the Chinese user's feedback, wait a while after save is acceptable. no more save corruption. it is really a simple habit to adapt.

The wording made it sound like adding a notification meant getting rid of clean boot. I think it was expected that notification would be part of "Boot with Addons".

I think the concern is there might be games that save very frequently and trigger writes to the microSD card. I don't know if any such game actually does this, though. While in the reset menu the game is paused, so a notification that it's safe to reset in the reset menu would entirely remove the possibility of corruption, correct?

Oh, if that gets rid of the clean boot, then I would prefer the clean boot instead of the sound. Could it maybe be implemented as an addon for the “boot with addon”? ;) My concern is that one of my favorite games “Super Mario Land 3: Yoshi’s Island”, which auto-saves within the game without any notification, will cause an error when I shutdown the console because I do not know when the game actually is saving.

Thereby, I have another question regarding saving: if you save a gb or gbc game ingame and then trigger the menu with “L+R”, could you also exit immediately or do you have to wait the 2-3 seconds before exiting or shutting down the console?

Right now. the only known game which save very frequently is Fire Emblem - Rekka no Ken and its clone. it will save every step on the battleground. but you can power off safety after your character stand for 3 seconds.

Any notifications which you mentioned need BOOT WITH ADDON. I will not consider removing clean boot. But clean boot has no any notifications after all.

You must wait 2-3 seconds (I've been waiting closer to 5 just to be extra careful) after L+R. The same if you Save State from the menu; any sort of save in the menu requires waiting 2-3 seconds. This is actually mentioned in the manual (well, the first part, anyways).
