Apparently it wasn't the dlc equip that made the game crash, it was some imported equipment from MHX. I ended up converting my save on the powersave just for the DLC. It was very long and annoying, had to sell all his edited crap, move all my equipements into page 8 and above (because the import option only import stuff from page 8 & above.. don't ask me why, dunno.) Editing my guild card to what I had on my legit save, import my equipment box, change all the crap from the guild card, including each monster value, such as hunted, size, captured.. lol.. Worth it I guess, lol, got dlc's now. I wish I knew someone who could hex edit my save or something instead, but there didn't seem to be anyone who knew how to do it!

I still need to do G rank again tho, since his first save was HR8 , he had some HR 218 save but. meh

Hi everybody,

I wanted to ask you guys something:
  • What exactly is the extdata folder in "user\sdmc"? Is it an essential folder? Can I delete some of its "unused" folders? What I mean is, for example, 00001A04 and 00001A05 are from Super Mario Maker, a game that I don't have anymore.

So... How much gpu power one needs to render astalos at any res other than native without fps drops (also flashbombs and roars).

I run 100% against him with my gtx 1070 and i5 4690, slight drop when he roar , to around 90%

But as Asferot said it's still a lot cpu dependent

Forgot to mention I'm running x8 native

for me astalos is around 85-90+% speed on x2-x4 res on start of battle 75-80% speed charged with slowdowns down to 70% and lover on roars on first canary with gpu rendering on i7 2600k~4.2Gz + 660ti

on same canary but with addition of ticks hack i stopped gettin noticable sound an game slowdown when fps was on pretty same number (maximum +5-10% game speed depending on part of battle) so its just "feels" better overall.
later on this build i switched to geometry on CPU for gettin rid of graphic glitches and now it feels better but speed/fps numbers i wasnt watchin to say for sure. I have 2 videos of same quest recorded on day of release gpu-citra dunno if you need it thou.

660ti wasnt loaded over 60-70% mostly on x2-x5 res btw so yeah - i think its still more CPU dependant but gpu render for sure did roars of most other monsters almost non-laggin.
Full load of this old gpu i got in mh4u on x4 res.

I do not have a save file to test what i get for this particular fight, however i have foudn the below change increased my FPS in other situation drasticaly.

Go into the qt-config.ini file in C:/Users/your username/AppData/Roaming/citra/config and change the hw_shaders in the Renderer part to 2.

This also removed the graphical glitches i experienced when using charge blade transform actions.

Like Keishiayy said, it contains some saves. But lemme extend that description.
ExtData aka Extra Data are well, extra datas for your games. Most of which are important to the game you use. Trying to delete it will clear everything especially records.
Example:
-Pokemon XY/ORAS/SM/USUM's replays, online records(number of times you traded or battle and the number of times you use Wonder Trade, GTS, etc), and other stuffs.
-Smash Bros 3DS' online records and replays.
-Mario Maker 3DS' levels and records.

Now, the folder names on the extdata are similar to the ones on titles. Just follow the last 4 digits or so.

PS: I dunno about other games as well. But all I know is that it holds records of your playthrough. Delete it at your own risk.

Btw how do i use the camera functionality? i tried drag n drop a QR code as jpg into the window but it did not let me.

Any specific format and dimension of the image i should follow? Thanks

Is it doable to grab multiplayer part from latest canary and put it to my build. (i mean, this is not my build, i just have it on my pc)

Adding another thing to the whole dlc thing for mhxx. Other players can play the dlc just fine if you select the quest, they just can't select it from the guild master.

And why exactly you don't want to update? The latest official Canary runs games up to 300% faster than old builds. and it has fixed some multiplayer bugs.
At this point it is stupid to sit on old builds, unless your CPU is a beast and GPU is from 15 years ago.

Even so he should be able to run the calculation on his CPU, pretty sure there is a setting for that :o

Weird too to have some old builds that run better

Because my current build don't have any lags or sluttering, like, when overworld loads after you closing menu. I compared latest canary and this old build. Old is better in twice.
My PC specs aren't too good: i5-4440 and overclocked 1050Ti

Eh? With those specs you should have no problems running latest canary on 100% all the time even in multiplayer. Unless you don't demand BS like 16x rendering or worse. There is no way any of the old builds are better. Not to mention twice. If there were magical builds like that in the past everyone would had used those. Are you sure you are running everything correctly? You actually need to switch to GPU rendering and such.

He probably tried a canary build before GPU update and just assumes the new one is bad as well.
I bet he did not even try it out of laziness.
