Hardware 2ds is....

The best model of 3ds! does anyone else love this thing? I have all models except the original 3dsxl and the 2ds is by far the most comfy to play for long hours!, no floppy screen! no shitty 3d!

I got one on final clearance for dirt cheap now I feel stupid for not getting another one earlier. I'm seriously considering selling my other models.

I love my 2DS, I wish the new 2DS was in this form factor too.

I'm still on A9LH too and it works perfectly

yeah, i really like them because they're tough as nails, comfy to hold, retro, and weird as hell.

Seriously why didn't they just make the new 2ds the same as original 2ds but with better cpu and extra analog stick!!

Screen's too small, and the internal tilt of the screen is a bit odd, but it's not a bad system. My nieces and nephews like it, though I much prefer the clamshell design. Though I quite like the 3d effect in games, which makes me a bit of a minority

I still want a clear green one.

I hate the clamshell design, I can't stand the wobble it drives me crazy. Also "the internal tilt of the screen is a bit odd" what does this mean lol.

Because they wanted to make an XL version without 3D, and the console would have been huge if it wasn't a clamshell design.

The screen isn't flat on the inside, it's slightly tilted. I think it's the bottom one or the top one, I forget. but it's closer to the glass at the top than at the bottom ever so slightly. Unless mine has got something loose lol. I was guessing so it's easier to view given the form factor of the 2ds.

And if a 3ds is wobbly, then you'll be happy to know newer versions don't have that (hopefully)

that samus 3ds one, for example, didn't have a click and didn't wobble at all. 2ds is still cool tho.

I have 4 3ds right now and 3 ds, they all wobble. My cousins 3ds wobbles, my friends wobble, my moms wobbles. I'll never understand the people why say they don't wobble probably just far less susceptible to small things like that.

Anyway I'm just surprised at how cool the 2ds is, I didn't think I would like it at all.

Xl's are far too huge for me man, it's like having two vitas stacked on top of eachother.

that sucks :'( you're right though, all my zelda 3ds wobble. My main one, my metroid one, doesn't wobble unless I'm being aggressive with it. And I still love it doesn't click XD you should try the metroid 3ds and see what you think.

When you teach kids in Japan, you understand who the 2DS is aimed at. Most of the kids I teach have 2DS because they can just throw them into their school bags and they're reassuring for parents.

I have an O2DS and it's the ONLY reason I'm able to play on Nintendo's 3DS line because I can't stand the clamshell design, plus because my hands are pretty big, holding the 3DS or 3DS XL for more than 10 mins gives me cramps because of how all the buttons are so low down... Besides the design being really nice, much more sleek than the 3DS's, dozens of times more durable and comfortable to hold, it also doesn't have a bad and annoying 3D that tires your eyes out and unnecessarily uses up system resources and battery.

If there's anything negative about it, it's only the mono-sound, which is extremely simple to get used to, plus using headphones completely circumvents the issue.

The screen is too small (smaller thsn DS Lite). Cheap plastic material. A single speaker? No 3D. No amiibo. No new 3DS games. Niece broke the screen on hers and I had to go through hell removing the ridiculous 22 screws keeping the device together.

The only good thing about it is the non-clamshell design and sleep switch, which isn't worth the trade-off. All 3DSs are just as comfortable as each other so I don't buy that "nonclamshell is uncomfortable" bullshit.

My exact thoughts.

Seriously, the o2DS is near perfect for me, no wobbles, super comfortable and built like a tank. If only it had the faster new cpu and a right analog stick, then it would be perfect.

I enjoy mine. It certainly seems friendlier for larger hands, though I do find myself missing the clamshell design occasionally.

So I guess I’m an idiot for just having an opinion. I understand that you like the 2DS’s design, and hate the 3DS’s, but I don’t think that is kinda fair to call people idiots just for having an opinion towards something. And yes, I own a 2DS, I have played with it. Also if you don’t like the clamshell design that doesn’t mean that others will have the same opinion as you.

Aside from nitpicks, I like the 2DS. It’s cheap, and worth it for the library of games the 3DS has to offer, but honestly I would prefer the 3DS more. I just prefer a heavier, bulkier console.
