Hacking Trimming 4+GB .3DS files to convert to .cia files in GM9

I need help, the files won't transfer over to my memory card because it's FAT32 format.
Is there another way? I don't have the cartridges anymore just the .3DS files.

When you convert them to cia, they will auto trimmed, use program like simple cia converter, or download your games from freeshop.

If converting said 3DS files is a must I think that http://eden.fm/ndstoykotrim/ can trim your 3DS files, but I dunno if all cases will fit into the 4GB limits of FAT32.
I'd recommend to try searching in the freeShop using the encTitleKeys.bin file from that "3ds title key", because the "Cartridge ID" that exists on 3DS files is totally omitted when converting to CIA, rendering them useless in the CIA format.

@aos10 OP actually wants to trim the 3DS files, so most of them can be reduced to a sub-4GB file, and convert them to CIA. This is a valid route to games that aren't available on that title key site (or the eShop at all) and that OP can find only as 3DS files over the net (or in it's personal backup).

even so, convert to .cia will remove the padding of the .3ds file, so the cia file 100% will be less then 4GB.

OP apparently is trying to convert the 3DS file to CIA using his 3DS. Saying that the CIA will be trimmed when converted is a moot point.
Unless we can provide him with a reliable tutorial on how to convert the file without putting the actual 3DS file on his 3DS SD card. I surely can't do that since I've never converted a 3DS file to CIA =/ so I can't guarantee the quality of any tutorial that I can find.
