I think my problem must be some issue at loading, because I have noticed the original game doing something similar in certain moments. I have it installed in a penUSB and maybe that does it load a bit worse and cause more often that issue.

I encountered error 150-3033 today while trying to play one of the memories. It's the one where the Yiga clan are after Zelda. I'm looking into what might be the cause. I assume I have a bad or missing file somewhere.

I think I saw that memorie yesterday using the undubed version and in my case it played normally.

I didn't played much yet so I assumed after hearing Zeldas voice in the first scene of the game that my undub is fine. I just recently got to King Rhoams first scene whose voice was muted. Is this known problem with the current way of undubbing?
I've overwritten EUde with the japanese voice files (I assume this has nothing to do with the .bars file or TitleBG_EUen.pack issues, no? )

Did you replace the .bars files or did you keep them the same?

If you didn't replace them then yes it is a problem since some NPC voices are muted, I don't think there is a way around this yet.

Yes I replaced them cause the original post says
Note: Just remember to leave the .bars in USen untouched!
I'm not using USen. FlappyFalco failed me here?

btw. @FlappyFalco I suggest to add a language comparison video to the Original Post e.g. Youtube . As pointed out before japanese is arguably also "not so great", so as long as someone just wants a language they don't understand something besides japanese might fit the personal taste better.

The intention was do not replace the .bars files of the default language you are using so if it is set to English then keep the English .bars and only replace the voice files, USen is used as an example because for many that would be the default.

And I have to say the spanish (from Spain) dub of the male characters is very good, specially the old ones like the king I think sound better even that the japanese, way deep and with emotion. The complain I have with that dub are a couple of voices, the Gerudo hero and Zelda!, the Gerudo is very emotionless and I have a weird feel with the Zelda one.

OK, I'm pretty proud of myself right now. ^_^

I've managed to get a perfect "Undub". That means the Champion item SFX, cutscenes, overworld voices for the characters that were dubbed (Riju, Impa, etc.) all working 100%. Not a word of English to be heard.

Thing is, I've only tested it by switching two languages on the same version of the game. I'm not quite sure if it'll work with voices from a different version (like JP in the American version), but I reckon it very well might if you also replace "U-King.rpx" in the "code" folder along with adding all the JP voice files and TitleBG_JPja.pack. You might also have to replace the font as well.

So, how, you may ask, did I do this? Well, I took an entirely different approach this time, as the issues with the .bars seemed unsolvable. So, I left the "Voice" folder alone, and simply switched the subs in the "Pack" folder.

The Bootup_EUxx.pack files contain the subtitles and all the game's text. But simply renaming them wasn't enough, and would just crash the game. I had to unpack them with Uwizard, rename the file inside and then repack them with a modified version of @NWPlayer123 's SARCPack.py (because Uwizard's packing is broken for some reason). I did this with the file in the update folder as well. This tricks the game into using English subs for whatever other language you want.

But unless you want to change your Wii U's language, you'll have to edit just one more file. Go to content>System in the main game folder and open "RegionLangMask.txt" in a text editor and on the fourth line, change your Wii U's language to the code of the language you'll be playing in. So if your Wii U is set to English, and you want German voices, change "EUen" to "EUde".

I'll do a full write up in the OP soon. I'd also be grateful if anybody could test doing this with the JP voices. The Python script needed to repack the files is below.

@FlappyFalco I'll be happy to try this to see if this works once the OP is updated but I doubt it would work since the JP game I'm assuming lacks the English texts that is present in the EU and US copy.

Oh, I know that. You would definitely need files from both versions. But you could copy the English subs (Bootup_EUen.pack) over to the JP version or you could replace the Euro's "U-King.rpx" (basically all the game's code) as well as moving all the JP voice files over to basically turn the game into the Japanese version. Probably. As I said, I haven't tried.

Hi, this is a bit off-topic, but do any of you guys know how to decode the .bars files that contain sound effects/voice works inside of the Sound folder? I want to mine it for nifty sounds to use as notification sounds on my phone, but have yet to find a way to decode them.

Also, this method will definitely work if you want voices that are already in your version of the game. For example, if you wanted French voices and English subs in the European version, you could do this. Otherwise, you could use the version of the game with the voices you want as a “base” and copy over the subs, but this is untested.

Falco, I was under the impression that doing this could brick your Wii U. Am I way off? If I'm understanding what you're saying here, if I wanted Jap audio, I would install the Jap game onto my Wii U after modifying it, right?

Yeah, there's no brick risk. If you try to run the game without sigpatches, you'll just get an error. Don't know where that rumour came from. Both Mocha and Haxchi have region free patches, so there's no need to worry about that. Just make sure it has a different title ID (which the different versions have by default) or WUPinstaller Y will fail.

Okay cool, thanks buddy. I'm pretty new to all this and I had read that somewhere.
