Hey, @ukee
If this editor can give you all items, then does that mean you or someone who helped you has a list of the hex values that correspond to each item? I want to hex edit some items individually, but I don't want to have to find the values for each item if I can avoid it. It's a pain to try to steal multiples of each limited item from bosses, especially once you get to the later chapters. I'd love to just blow through the rest of the optional battles without having to drag out each one trying to steal from the enemies. Then I can just give myself the number of items I would have stolen. If you have the values could you send me the list? Or if you know anyone who might have them, could you point me in their direction?
I don't really have a list of hex values for each items in the game as I was and still am clueless on what is what or how the items are represented in hex values. I only added in a whole chunk of the hex values from the save file I referred to and added in the save editor.
The save file I referred to was one of the save file someone posted in this thread, so check it out.

As for the others, I'm not really sure when I'd continue on with this save editor, if anyone feels like making a new editor or picking up where I left then feel free to.
Sorry. ;C

I'm not even entirely certain the game stores values for certain items, but rather certain slots in your bag. A few months ago I was tinkering around with some saves in an effort to figure out where Unearthly Buns were stored (wanted to see what stat caps were mostly), but I ran into a strange issue. I managed to find the value for my Unearthly Buns, but increasing it also ended up making a duplicate of the Hp booster bun, possibly because it was the next item up, possibly because I'm missing something someone more experienced would have noticed, who knows. The really weird thing I found was if I used up all the Unearthly Buns, then went back and reboosted the hex value that I originally increased for the buns, it instead made 99 more HP Booster buns; however, if I left some Unearthly Buns leftover, doing the same thing just resulted in the Unearthly buns going back up again. So if I had to guess I'd say item data is probably stored in multiple parts, it would explain why I apparently needed to leave an item as a reference point. Haven't a clue about the magically appearing Hp bun though XD.

Yeah. I've never seen a game use 3 bytes for each item like this. Check Asia81's Uncensored release thread and you'll see someone managed to figure out how to add the JP-exclusive items, but they're each three bytes (two hex digits) long. How many bytes were you manipulating when you tried? For example, were you just changing XX, or XX XX, or XX XX XX?
Then again, I've never edited raw hex saves before, so maybe I'm just ignorant.

According to the notes I left while doing all this (good thing I actually was writing things down, I'd never remember all this) I was changing XX XX. Being 3 bytes long could account for why I needed to leave some if we assume the unchanged byte was an id byte. The magically appearing bun however remains a mystery XD.

You were probably editing two different items at the same time by accident, then. Possibly quantity bytes for the one you wanted, and in ID byte for a different one, if I had to guess. There aren't that many items in the game, and thanks to the JP Mammon nemesis I have practically all of them save for a few. If I mapped out which ones were which, would anyone be interested in the list?

The odd thing is the offsets I was changing were different between saves whose only item difference was the number of Unearthly buns iirc, so I'm not sure how I managed to pull that off XD. But shouldn't changing an id byte result in one item turning into another instead of making a whole new one? For clarity's sake, the magically appearing bun is in a separate item stack from my hp buns gotten normally, which certainly shouldn't happen via normal gameplay at least XD. And I actually double checked and had all my normal items and such, so I just don't know what went wrong lol. I think a mapped out list would actually be quite interesting if only to help see what I'm missing. For example, according to my notes, I had (supposedly) figured out that Hi-Potions were stored in the B6FA block (as editing the values in that block changed the number of hi-potions I had) and Unearthly Buns in the BB8C block; but since we can see my results weren't quite perfect, there's clearly a some wrong information there

I'm afraid I didn't. I was only interested in getting the DLC items in so I didn't make any such efforts.
I can share an observation I made though. The first byte of an item is simultaneously the item ref and partly a quantity byte for the previous item in the inventory. Which is why sometimes you will see items that have refs that haven't incremented in 20(hex)s like my examples for the DLC items.
It's a really really weird way of doing things.

This might explain it.

Hm that sure is weird way of putting things

The last time I checked on a new save, the items were only 2 bytes (or not). B6FA was High-Potion as what Ditzy has said, I did sort of figure out how some of the items work but I forgot where I put the notes for that xD

Yaaaaayou might want to add to the main post that you wont be able to change support abilities if you use this. I removed the cia and later put the game back on thinking the save data would still be there and it was, BUT apparently I did not know it was a back up save of the game from way back when I was lvl 6. I already had big pharma so I had no problem getting gp and had everyone with growth eggs. So since I basically had to start over from back at lvl 6 I gave your program a go and ONLY turned on the max pg. I'm at the point where I'm in the grand ship about to fight the boss there and I was grinding out some JPs before fighting it ONLY to change jobs and then I went to change my abilities and have the game crash. Usually theres a number at the end where it says unused cost but now there is not and when I go to change it, the game just crashes. It did it before but I paid it no mind because later on I unlocked the fire crystal and got another point and that allowed me to go in there and change what I have. But now I can't. I'm using the US version of the CIA.

Sorry I can't really make any fixes to the program as of now since my laptop broke down, I probably won't be able to since I have tons of work to do honestly.
I'll probably PM you for your save files to see what was causing it once I have the time.

Though the bug sure is odd..

Same thing here.
Any solution?

So I used the save editor program and it worked fine....except the Performer job for both Ringabel and Edea are only at level 6 and Tiz and Agñes have those same jobs maxed. I know you can edit the file through HxD, but what lines should I edit and what value should I place to make them max?
Thanks for any help.

Is there one for Bravely Second?
The game still hasn't been out long enough for people to start making save editors. All I've been able to find are these 2 threads:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/bravely-second-money-hex-offsets.416169/
https://gbatemp.net/threads/bravely-second-999-villagers.416254/

Also next time try Googling before asking. If you find it on Google you're good, and if not then ask here.

Isn't obvious why I asked here? Because I haven't found on Google -_-

Max Money code on a US save with 2 unlocked support points makes opening ability screen crash game. Tiz showed only 1 slot and trying to change crashed. Other chars simply crashed.
(florent save - just before the beauty competition start)

This is broken. Editing anything causes support ability points to mess up and your game to crash in the abilities menu. I highly recommend not using this program in its current state as it seems to corrupt your save file 100% of the time regardless of what you change.

Tested on US version with SVDT multiple times.

Crashes in the abilities menu for mine (US version) as well. I tried to use the Max Money function. Any way to reverse the change if we were stupid and forgot to make a backup?
