which stores sell these? Hopefully at Target or Kohls. Every other store is too far away so the less chance I would be able to grab one of these. Would love the black one and pass on the Pokemon Sun and Moon version. Love the blackish look, but I do prefer the XL since it fit better in the pocket

Is this plate- swappable?

They don't. They never resell my Happy Home Designer faceplates at all, let alone other limited edition faceplates. They are limited for this very reason.

Nope. My Happy Home Designer bundle was ordered from Walmart, and can only be ordered from that retailer. I'm certain it will be the same for this Black N3DS.

That is for HHD bundle. This one is up in the air. Nothing has been confirmed yet. I'm also looking for answers. I just have a confident hunch that it will only be retailers pick-up only.
