Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Quick question: I was planning on following Plailects guide tomorrow to install Arm9loaderhax with Luma. At some point the guide tells me to update to the newest 3ds system firmware - the guide repeatedly says this is safe. Still, I noticed a new firmware was released this week (11.2.0-35). Do you have any idea if following the guide and updating my firmware is safe, even with 11.2.0-35 being released? Thanks!

No problem, i installed a9lh a couple days ago, updated to 11.2 and my 3ds is still fine, no signs of nintendo stability yet so rest assured.

You know how in the Nintendo3ds folder there's a 32id folder with another 32id folder...well...in my 3ds inside the first 32id folder there are two 32id folders...and when I move out the lightest one I keep all my data but loose my custom theme shuffle...and when I put it back my theme shuffle comes back...any idea which one is the one in use, unless i need both for some reason...

You can install the homebrew launcher cia to boot into homebrew, you don't need OoThax.
You can download and install nearly any game you want through freeShop, there's not really any need to dump cartridges. Unless you have no internet. In which case yes, you can dump it to cia and install through FBI.

my man it says its only games that i own and atm i havent bought anything off the eshop
only thing i bought for my 2ds is oot
what use would the eshop be to me if i had no games bought?
ill download it anyways n see what its about though, u helped me install a9lh so i guess i owe u that

do u know if theres any pokegen for oras like how there was for ds games?

You don't have to own the games to use freeShop.
And tell there's plenty of hacking tools for Pokémon! I don't know anything about them but you should find them searching the homebrew forum.

Make sure you have keys in rigjeirjvaeirjgaerjgaeilfger

Manually copy keys to the directory or check settings to enter a URL for downloading keys.

ight so i gotta copy title keys for games i want and then itll download for me? where can i get em?

Download Luma3DS from GitHub, and use that arm9loaderhax.bin.

Do you have a DS game in your 3ds...sometimes they can cause problems at boot...

Google for the 3ds titlekeys. Click the orange part of the green button that looks like a little QR code so a big QR code displays on your screen.
Then go to freeShop, go to settings, then Update. Tap the little button on the left of the touch screen that looks like a tiny QR code. The camera will open.
Scan the big QR code on your computer screen. Save the settings and restart freeShop.
Games will now be available for download.

I am currently on sys 11.0.0-33U (CFW version i think). I followed plailects guide and I haven't updated to the new ones that came out in the recent months. Is it safe to just hit yes when it asks me to update?

Make sure that you have CFW first, then yes, it's safe to update.
