R4iSDHC carts suffer from glitches in certain games like Pokemon Black where the game will freeze upon saving. It's a bug in the current YSMenu build for these carts which I'm hoping will eventually get fixed. Thing is, I realised when messing around with firmwares/kernels earlier with the DSTT Launcher that the launcher seems to boot its own YSMenu regardless of what's on the cart microSD and so when/if YSMenu gets updated (hopefully), I'd have to run the updated YSMenu as a secondary kernel to the YSMenu packaged in the launcher which would just kinda be annoying, hence why I'm after a way to update the YSMenu that the launcher runs.why do you want to update?
ah... thanks for info!R4iSDHC carts suffer from glitches in certain games like Pokemon Black where the game will freeze upon saving. Not sure, I don't have one so I can't test it. I think that RGF's YSMenu provides a different build for DSTT carts but I could be wrong considering R4iSDHCs are just DSTT knockoffs.ah... thanks for info!
BTW those glitches happen on DSTT too?
are you using aureinand?Hi there still looking for some help. I have an M3 DS REAL card that I have tested on my DS lite and works perfectly, but upon plugging in and using the g6 flash cia that is recommended the screen will just flash white and then go straight into a black screen. I've tried putting thin paper between the card and the ds to make the contacts touch (idk if that is the problem) but still nothing. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks a lot!
Install TWL patchingAnyone had any look with one of these cards? ive tried all the launchers but all seem to instantly give an error message.
As far as im aware ive already patched my twl firm. and i beleive aureinand automatically does it now.Install TWL patching
Figured out why it was instantly crashing. it was because i forgot to install dsiwares to sysnand. now all the apps but but none of them will load the R4. if thered a fix or someone is willing to try get it working i have all the firmware files that allow it to boot on a phat original dsAnyone had any look with one of these cards? ive tried all the launchers but all seem to instantly give an error message.
Never realised none of the launcher were sdhc. hope they come eventually. thank you for your reply though@lethalcrayonz & @Jackus I might be wrong, but I don't think @Apache Thunder managed to make a loader for R4-SDHC.

Just realised I haven't tried the Ri Gold Launcher.DSTT Launcher and R4i Gold Launcher have been known to work for R4 SDHC which are mostly DSTT clones. But not all of them work with those apparently. But yes, I don't have a launcher specific to R4 SDHC though.
This thread I'll dedicate to DSiWare designed to launch older DS flashcarts on the 3DS/n3DS. (and by old, I mean VERY old stuff. Stuff my TWL Slot-1 Launcher fails to work for)
This is separate from my TWL Slot-1 Launcher due to the fact that this works a bit differently and each launcher (if there are more I get working in the future) are specific to their flashcart and can't be used to launch slot-1 in general. Unlike TWL Slot-1 Launcher, if you intend to use this on emunand, you must have the DSiWare app in question installed to BOTH emunand AND sysnand!
But remember, you only need patched TWL_FIRM on emunand if using CIA of patched TWL_FIRM! Unless you are using rxTools of coarse. rxTools currently has the new TWL_FIRM patches that this needs. (that's o3DS exclusive though at the moment as rxTools doesn't yet have support for patching TWL_FIRM/AGB_FIRM of n3DS)
The above video shows the ORIGINAL R4 working on a n3DS/3DS for the first time! The original R4 has not worked even on the DSi! So that cheap 4/8 dollar flashcart that's still for sale in some places is now compatible with the 3DS using this launcher! Note this is a WoodR4 firmware launcher, thus you need WoodR4 files installed on your R4!
Download Links:
Confirmed Working
Original R4:
WoodR4Launcher.rar
R4CartLauncher_AnyKernel.rar (Requires a _DS_MENU.dat file to be present on MicroSD card of R4. This allows you to use any compatible kernel you want)
MoonShell2_R4.rar
hbmenu_DSiHybridMode_R4.rar (DSi mode hbmenu with R4 DLDI. Setup to access content from R4's MicroSD card instead of 3DS SD card. Older homebrew that requires DLDI will work with this)
R4i Gold (specifically the r4i-gold.com version):
R4iGold_Launcher.rar
DSTT: (confirmed working with R4 Upgrade Revolution SDHC carts as well!)
DSTT_Launcher.rar
DSTTMoonShell2_Launcher.rar (copy contents of MicroSD folder to root of MicroSD of your DSTT)
M3 DS Real:
M3DSReal_Launcher.rar
(seems to only work if using WoodM3. Link to latest version of WoodM3 for best compatibility: WoodM3125d.rar)
These install like any normal CIA. (Set destination to NAND if installing with FBI). Once installed, insert your R4 and boot this app. It will then start up the WoodR4 menu and games will be loaded from your R4's MicroSD card.
After multiple people testing, I have found that it's best you have your MicroSD card formatted to Fat16 (FAT). If you are having issues getting it to access the R4 menu, then try reformatting your MicorSD card. It may resolve the issue.
I will post launchers for other carts if and when I can get them converted and confirmed working.
