Ninjhax bootrate seems near 100%, browserhax seems to fail all the time, will test menuhax
That's interesting.. I've had a bunch of people test it but never specified which entrypoint. It seems nearly every other method has been almost 100%. I'm having some people test BrowserHax now.

Downgraded my 9.4.0-21U 2DS to 9.2.0-20U last night with the latest version, running from Menuhax! Things seem to be good! Many thanks!

I just used this on my new 9.8 animal crossing happy home designer system I got today. Only took two tries to launch *HAX and downgrade with no bricking!

What I'm telling you to do is back up your >>>SD CARD<<<, format the >>>SD CARD<<< then restore the files to the SD CARD

My buddy used this to do the formatting

http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm

After my buddy did that he downgraded just fine
I already did that, I even used two different micro SD cards. I must format the system in order to make it work, all softbricks seem to be fixed by doing that.
Try deleting update nag (A+R+L+Up at startup) before downgrade,
I did it when I tried to downgrade from 10.3, then I was forced to update to 10.6 (which won't download the update data).

I've been having the same problem as you - unfortunately the only two solutions that don't involve losing data are 1) hardmodding and 2) waiting for someone to release arm9/cfw access on 9.3-10.3 :c

Same here, nobody seems interested in finding a solution other than doing a system format (not an option when you have a ton of eShop games with saves that can't be backed up thanks to HANS inability.)

yep, unfortunately the only response I seem to get is something along the lines of "lol why do u care about that data". Hopefully someone figures out ntrcardhax soon.

Just downgraded a N3DS 10.6-31E to 9.2-20E.

It was easy but there was some confusion about what files to download and where to put them.

I had nothing worth saving - including ironhax. Its gone.

I reformatted the existing 9.9 firmware and SD card and upgraded through Nintendo system update to latest 10.6.

I downloaded ninjhax 2.6, SafeSysUpdater.3dsx-1.0.zip (from the OP), and 9.2.0-20E(Full)_n3DS (from a MEGA link).

The 9.2 .cia files (104 of them were already in an updates folder) and they were placed in SD:/updates/

The SafeSysUpdater.3dsx file was placed in new folder SD:/3ds/SafeSysUpdater/ where ninjhax could find it in the homebrew menu.

None of the CRC and MD5 checks matched the published values but SafeSysUpdater confirmed them as valid through the 'A' button precheck.

The installation was quick, efficient and worked first time.

I only had to reboot manually as the install did not reboot at the end, after 10 seconds.

Thanks to all the contributors.

Just a couple more updates on the 1.0 version.

Downgrade a 10.6.0-31U unit and 9.8.0-25 unit (new in box)

Both downgraded and hax success on 1st attempt. No soft-bricks.

Looking good so far.

I purchased a new 3ds xl on blue yesterday. Got it home, opened her up and on 9.9.0.26E. Used the latest SafeSysUpdater build in the main post. Downgraded to 9.2.0.20E within 10 minutes using Ninjhax 2.6. I checked my update CIA's first, then proceeded on to downgrading. Had a slight nag. I had the 'An error has occurred' message during the downgrade of my n_firm. Powered off my console and removed my SD. Powered back on and went into settings. 9.2.0.20E. Then went on to getting into gateway via Cubic Ninja. Except, the exploit kept getting stuck on a purple screen. I then went on to using Ninjhax 2.6 again. This time I decided downgrade again. SafeSysUpdater only downgraded my n_firm this time. So my console must of produced the error during the last n_firm downgrade process. I believe I was stuck on FrankenFirm. Success story in the end though. I'm now in the middle of setting up the A9LH exploit. Backed up my nand via hard mod on 9.9 3 times, plus 2 via Gateway on 9.2, so I now have 5 backups. Covered regardless of what happens software side.

Thanks to all who created SafeSysUpdater.
