Ok. Might need to remove Core Cheat Options from the Menu Listings before there is anymore confusion in the 3DS Port or all the others Ports

I'd be inclined to agree but there is no way to ask the core whether it supports cheats or not and we do not implement hacks on a per-core basis.
Gambatte does support cheats, so if we remove the cheat menu we'd be affecting all the cores.

I apologize if this has been brought up before, but is it just me or are savestates in Genesis Plus GX broken? I'm using the 3dsx version and it plays games at near full speed with a few drops here and there but trying to make a savestate freezes the emulator. I tried the latest nightly but the problem persists.

OK. Well should put that in the Changelog then, and also in the Builds Compiled from here on. Granted everyone reads it. LOL

I can't understand why there is so much nagging about cheats or saves. Learn how to play games ffs. As long as normal saving works, it should be OK even for rpg gamers.

That's one of the issues of playing home console games on a portable console - especially old games, some of them are just meant to be played in one sitting, and as such don't feature save capabilities. Save states are supposed to fill that void. It's not a matter of whether or not you know how to play games, it's a matter of having the option to save my progress, close my console, and be able to come back and continue from where I left off.

Savestates are working fine for me in Genesis Plus GX (using the latest nightly), as far as Master System and Game Gear games are concerned. Haven't tried Genesis/Mega Drive savestates, though. The core does seem to take a while to write the savestate file, especially if it's a new unused slot, so maybe that might be the issue?

How long does it take, on average? Maybe I'm just being impatient.

I've been trying to get the picodrive core working on my o3ds with Ironhax on 9.9 and it freezes every time on game load with "Retroarch [INFO] : : Environ SET_DISK_CONTROL_INTERFACE" as the last message on the bottom screen. The same result has happened on every nightly build I've tried.

I'm guessing about maybe 10-15 seconds. I'll try creating another new savestate and edit this post with further info

edit: yeah, i seem to be averaging about 7 seconds per new savestate, actually. @ric.

Apparently on the .cia version is working at the moment. The .3dsx version has been giving me the same error for a couple days now, though I'm sure it's only a matter of time until it's fixed. If you're looking to play Master System or Game Gear games, look into Genesis Plus GX.

Here again with another .smdh. Hope everyone likes it! :nds:

For PC-Engine CD games, you guys should look into converging then the .bin/.cue files into the .iso/.ogg format. A 300mb game will become 40mb like this, and the audio quality is still awesome.

Besides that, has anyone talked about overlay support? That'd be kinda nice too. Although DRC would probably be the best thing to have right now.

Does anyone else have this Issue with their N3DS MicroSD Cards:
You take it out a lot to transfer Updated Emu or other Files, and after a while of doing this, the Card wont work right in your PC? Contacts on the MSD seem to be a bit worn? Time to get another Card? LOL

Are you using some kind of adaptor? Like, a MicroSD-to-SD or MicroSD-to-USB? Because those are extremely fragile and break all the time - I've gone through four or five adaptors!

You arent supposed to take it out.... Use MicroSD Management.....

Yes I am. But actually. one time, it worked perfectly in my PC, but when I put the Card in my N3DS, it would not read it

If I use MSD Management, I will get Update Nags all the time wont I? My PC is only connected to Internet Modem.

Brand? Class? How is it formatted? Where did you buy it? How much did you pay? Most good Micro SD's shouldn't realistically ever have this issue.

EDIT: No. Use Multipatcher/block NN servvers on your router.
