Azure Striker Gunvolt coming to Steam next week

Seems like Inti Creates is releaseing its 3DS game on Steam. The catch with the Steam version is that its getting a bit buffed up. The Steam version is getting an exclusive Speedrun Mode, Steam Trading Cards, Russian translation and Japanese voices with English subs option (For that Otaku yourself that's inside). For the next 6 months after its release, the game is gonna be monthly updated with new modes, Online ranking boars etc, seems like the Steam users are getting a treat there. And if you purchase the game from August 28th till September 28th, you're gonna get a free download of Mighty Gunvolt. The price of the game will be 15$ and the release date of the game is August 28th.

this is not the case, if wasnt 3DS and the inafune fans, this game could not even come to west. but int is cheap with the fans, not eve adding the eur spanish and portuguese opitions to US version, and now come with a big release for computer with everything it could have even on the strat like the game flowing like the japanese and stuff, ok this is nice to do but and the one that made this sheet come out? why don't update all the 3DS version to be exatly like the PC version? add the same stuff, having the same content .... now looks that the "ambrassador" is a cheap version of steam one :B

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You are right ... the starting console should get more extras ... Like shovel knigth that got extras on furthe rrelease but wiiu and 3ds? neh :P (not sure if PC got :v )
I am not against making it multi-plat, no what I was talking about, is most games nowadays once they go multi-plat, they start to neglect the original system they started on. Basically just ignoring or even flat out dumping on their starting system.
They gotta appeal players to get the PC version somehow and they did by adding more stuff. I understand what you guys mean but in the end do the small changes even matter? Its just couple of translations and other nifties, nothing to lose your head about.

It's not that it's a huge deal, it's just a notable trend that I felt like noting.

actually is sad because My pc isn't good for games and these extra would be great on 3Ds like.. My language... or at least the "normal gameplay from japanese version" that should be that since the start XD but more than this is like he said, giving a shit for what helped it to come out xp

The 3DS is becoming a soak test video game machine to see if an idea sticks or does well. I'm looking AT YOU RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS. Once they idea sells they completely abandon the original like a wet dish rag and focus on the platform that they REALLY wanted from the start. Consoles and PC. No reason why 3DS version couldent get voices. They only game that I see getting equal handheld to console support is SSB4

Well they could still give the game an update later on 3DS.
I certainly won't buy the game again for a full 15 just to get it on PC and get the full version we should have had in the first place.
Would be really cool of them though if they found a way to give the 3DS version a serial number based on your NintendoID that could be used to claim a discount but eh, who am I kidding not gonna happen.
Oh well, if its on steam it'll be dead cheap by the winter season so if I really need it that badly then I'm good.

Overall I think I was looking forward to a sequel of the game more than a port as I just didn't dig the ending so much and kinda wanna move forward and forget it.
Though then again maybe I just missed out on a lot of story bits that were cut.
That probably would have made it make more sense.

What do you mean the catch with the Steam version? A beefed up version with more modes etc. is a positive thing, not a negative thing.

I was hoping it would come to other platforms eventually. My laptop is literally so much of a potato that it can't even handle Shovel Knight though, so I doubt it'll be able to handle this. Hopefully it'll come to Wii U and other consoles. It would be cool to play on the big screen.

I found this game to be disappointing in comparison to the Mega Man Zero games it spiritually succeeds, but that aside, I thought it was really fun, and unique in some ways. Still don't understand why they removed the VA from the 3DS English release if they were just going to add it back in the Steam release, though. Hopefully the sequel will get a proper dub.

My main problem with Japanese audio with English subs is that a lot of the dialogue takes place in real time during gameplay. In a fast-paced Mega-Man-Zero-styled game, I don't have time to focus on reading subtitles while kicking ass. :P So I really hope the sequel gets an English voice track.

It's double-barreled thing, on the other hand you have completely new platform where you are releasing old game, so you have to somehow appeal to them instead of leaving impression of getting some remnant porting from another platform with full price tag.
On the other hand you have your original platform which you should keep at least updated so that players who may still buy the game won't feel abandoned or like getting far worse version.

Now this, it looks like lazy porting job and those extras are settings that should be available in the first place or at least updated into the game, so pretty bad on both ends tbh.

Also I don't remember that many games having that many extra features when they jumped onto other platforms. Steamworld Dig basically changed stereo-3D to HD graphics, same for Mighty Switch Force. Mutant Mudds still seems to have Steam exclusive content, so both GOG and 3DS buyers got screwed, but it's also basically 3D->HD as well.

I'm pretty sure Mutant Mudds on 3DS eventually got the extras from the Dx version in a free update. I booted it up a few weeks ago, and the extra dx levels were all there.

Oh, totally. I'm not saying that the Japanese track shouldn't be there; I'm just saying that the English track should. ;)
If there are no opition of change I'm stuck with the original, but if have , the more dubs possible it's better, I eally like t enjoy dubs even don't understanding a thing XDD I'm really a dub fan .. even wanted to make dubs but I suck at it :v lol

Looks like not even 3DS exclusives remain exclusives for long..funny times indeed.
It's nothing new. There have been a lot of indie (or at least indie-ish) titles that got their start on the 3DS eShop, and then went elsewhere when they got unexpectedly popular. SteamWorld Dig, Gunman Clive, Fractured Soul, Mutant Mudds, and Xeodrifter all come to mind.
