Straight from NVIDIA like a reference card?? Dude, stay away from that! Intel SSDs are quite nice too, as for the CPU, again youre making some fairly understandable noob mistakes, the frequency of the processor has nothing to do with how good it can perform in your case. Take for example an i5 2500k and compare it to a AMD processor that went head to head with it at that time ( I think it was 4 or so years ago ), the i5 can run an 970 with no problems whatsoever to date while the AMD counterpart is absolutely replaced with newer models which have more "cores" or whatnot . My point is that you dont measure processors by their frequency but rather by how much data they can milk out of a mhZ.
Ill keep this in mind but if I do have an issue ill just buy an i7 devils canyon.

@guitarheroknight So heres how things look now http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pGWydC this is what it will have in it, the only thing I might want to change is the power supply (since according to my Wat usage its no where near that much) and in the near future if I need to the processor. I also decided to go with a EVGA 980 Ti.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($26.98 @ OutletPC)
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste ($6.79 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($148.89 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Intel 730 Series 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($132.75 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ Video Card ($688.99 @ B&H)
Power Supply: Rosewill 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($104.99 @ Newegg)

Looks pretty decent but I noticed the motherboard which is weird because it doesn't have the same socket as your CPU so you won't be able to use it as far as I can tell.

Yeah I changed it again the i7 is now mandatory http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LQ8zLk
If you have the money go for it, but it's really a waste if you're only gaming with it. An i7 processor is used for rendering and heavy duty programs like photoshop and whatnot, gaming wise they are absolutely identical. If I were you I would get the i5 4690k and buy something else with the extra money. If you don't believe just watch some benchmarks.

Yeah I know its whats shown in the video I linked, but at the same time this way I wont have to upgrade for years and i'm still just below my budget of 2k.

Hmmm, not too bad a choice, I'd recommend using NT-H1 instead of AS5 paste, though I'd also recommend liquid cooler as opposed to air cooling, more expensive but better headroom for potential overclocking and quieter. Power supply, I'd avoid Rosewill as they're not the most reliable, I exclusively use Corsair for my builds simply for reliability. You really wouldn't need an i7, I have i7s for rendering buy my gaming PCs use i5's the price overhead doesn't translate to increased performance in game, very few games can use the hyperthreading, and those that do barely perform any better.

Ok at the suggestion of @RandomOddness and @guitarheroknight this is how things are now (jesus I keep making changes) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/p4FHTW
I changed the Power supply it should be enough to run everything (Power consumption is a non issue for me) and I went with cool master ice fusion thermal compound.
I would go for the PSU I posted just to have some wiggle room. IMHO 550 is dangerously close to the no start line. Better safe than sorry ;) Everything else looks amazing!

Making changes now is the most important part, you don't want to order it and find out that something simply isn't fit for purpose, I agree entirely with guitarheroknight a 750W Corsair PSU may be overkill, but I'd rather have the head room than not. Also, Cooler Master paste wouldn't really be beneficial, as your CPU Cooler would already come with the equivalent, again I'd choose Noctua NT-H1 or Arctic Cooling MX-4. Save for the WiFi adapter, if you must buy a WiFi card, I'd go with AC as opposed to N though given the choice I'd rather invest in Powerline adapters. everything else looks good.

To echo the others, nVdia put in the product specs that for the GTX 980 Ti, 600W power supply is recommended. 550W, whilst it will still run, is cutting it too close. I would personally pick a 600W or 650W PSU, but 750W is good too since it gives room for adding a second graphics card for SLI.

Also, only get a WiFi-AC card if you have a WiFi-AC router. If your router only supports WiFi-N, stick with that.

Other than that, the build looks good to me. Don't have any other parts I'd comment on.
