Hacking 3ds card

Hey guys!

I am planning on buying my first 3DS flashcard that supports playing 3DS back-up games. I got a 3DS XL and I am wondering what is the best card out there that supports the most games and things like cheats, like the cheat database on the r4 card on the old ds.

I heard things about MT-card and gateway but can't really choose or have the knowlegde about it. Can someone help me with recommending the best one? Thank you!

whats model of 3ds do you have, old... new, XL or standard?

what firmware version are you running, ?

dont update it,

if you want to use the gateway carts which really are the best of the best on your firmware you will also need to own a copy of cubic ninja or zelda oot. OR downgrade the firmware with through gateways software to firmware 4.5 and then you can use gateway to play backups by triggering it with just the blue card that comes with the set.

thanks havent update it for long

so gateway is the best. uhm so i can downgrade to 4.5 with a blue card, so zelda oot or cubic ninja isnt a requirement for me? because i dont have any original game

you are going to need to borrow or use someones game to let you downgrade or buy a copy so you can leave your firmware where it is and use gateway..

the games have an exploit which lets you boot into gateways menu.

so i have to buy a copy of zelda oot or cubic ninja, it doesnt matter how old the game is right? and then i buy gateway 3ds and i can downgrade my ds firmware ot 4.5 with the original games and then play backup games with gateway ?

STOP if you have an Old 3DS you DO NOT! need a copy of cubic ninja or zelda, you only need them if you have a New 3DS.

you have 2 options:

leave your firmware as is and use cubic ninja or zelda oot to boot into gateways menu to play roms everytime

or

borrow the cubic ninja or zelda oot, use it once to boot into gateways menu and downgrade the 3ds firmware to 4.5, on 4.1 - 4.5 you can use the blue card you get with gateway cards to boot into the gateway menu from here on, the blue card was blocked on anything over 4.5 you see.

you are better off going with cubic ninja if you have the choice, its faster to use and you dont have to mess around putting save files into the game before you use it etc.

Sorry for the confusion @aygoo just get your gateway card backup your nand and update Emunand to 9.8 there are many tutorials you can find here.

Also the blue card will work just fine after installing a CIA so DS games will play just fine using the blue card and save raw for editing.
