No it's not! You can get a firmware-spoofed CIA of the game (just google, you'll find it) and run it on Palatine CFW (after editing it) for free.

That would be awesome, and ideal for me. Basically, it would keep the ramped up difficulty/story change/extra pokemon, and all the pokemon moves and evolutions would be like in the vanilla version? I'd play this asap.

Like only the Pokemon edits like moves and Pokemon foubd in the wild without adding the story/difficulty changes?

Currently it's restricted in that you either pick full which has everything or lite which has only story/difficullty/wild edits.
However, shortly I'm going to introduce a new version: 'Custom'. Using the custom version will allow you to pick what you want and what you don't for example, you don't like any plot change or wild encounter edits but want edited pokemon and difficulty - now you can do that. So everyone can get out of this hack what they want.

nie its also possible to use cubic ninja + NTR 2.0 on a n3DS to play your mod with a retail card/eshop version

Yes. It only happens when i edit and rebuild X. I've decrypted, edited, and rebuilt Alpha sapphire many times and it runs fine. All of the other roms on my GW run fine too. Might just be me making a simple mistake
Did you use the manual install for X and the latest version there has been a few probelms with X patcher.
hm i have the same problem Xavier do you solved the problem? i haven't cubic ninja so i can't use this plugin. i have only a gateway 3ds on 3.2.1 i haven't installed any updates. i used the patcher for pokemon y. i think im to dump for it. does anyone tested it on his gateway and works fine?
update: now i downloaded the update 1.5 and the rom start. can i play this hack with the update? i don't think so or?

It works fine on update 1.5 but not any others for you? Interesting, go through each patch individually and see what works and what doesn't. Also try the manual installation.
