Hi, i have i doubt, to restore a previous backup, i need use the inject option from rxTools menu, right?
Not really. Do you have a gateway card? If you're talking NAND backup, use the gateway launcher with nand.bin in the root of your SD card. In the GW menu select the downgrade function and hold UP on the + pad when pressing A. Then press start.

Edit: now I don't remember about rxtools... I'm at work.

I've been hearing about these "legal CIAs" recently. Did something happen recently where downloading and playing a game you don't own isn't illegal anymore?

And these can be installed and run on rxMode emuNAND?
(by all means, link me to the proper thread to discuss this)
Couldn't find an appropriate thread to link to.

You wouldn't be able to install them in rxMode, but you will be able to play them.

As mentioned above, a "legit" .cia is one created from a preinstalled game. They're signed with a generic signature so they can be added to your list of purchased games once you've created your NNID.

It also allows the preinstalled game to be merged with your existing NNID when performing a system transfer to a 3DS with a preinstalled game.

Once they're associated with your NNID they become yours, and can be (re)downloaded from the eShop any time you like.

Theoretically you could install all available legit games (there's about half a dozen I think) to a secondary 3DS, then perform a system transfer from your primary 3DS to it, at which point all the installed games would be acquired and linked to your primary's NNID.

One week later you system transfer back to your primary unit with 6 new games that as far as the 3DS is concerned are legally yours.

Roxas has said before that he plans to add region free support.
But what's wrong with RegionThree?

Never heard of it but have read the wiki just now. Seems you need an internet connection so it will do for when I have one. Since the rxtools has mset now it seems like a better alternative for the longer term.

Actually you are correct that in theory it should be able to be done. But so far even I can confirm that a transfer does not work. I would not suggest this yet with your legitimate purchases until you know it will transfer properly.

You mean you can confirm that something went wrong. Did you tie a 3DS that came with a pre-bundled game to an NNID and then do a system transfer without the bundled game moving over as well? If so, you'd be the first I've heard this from. Among several dozen that say thier game transferred over (and one or two that messed up the transfer, but they were able to re-download from the eshop).

I can't tell you of the several dozen as I had read about 3 to 4 threads on this system transfer to see what results were being posted and haven't seen anyone say it works. It was more on in theory they are speaking of but haven't tried it themselves personally. But for the ones who are actually attempting it they are saying it doesn't work. By doesn't work means that on the target console the games are no longer redownloadable. The transfer goes fine as the games are moved over from source to target just as expected. The target will show the games in the settings management but with a gray cross. In eshop it says you have to purchase. A nintendo ID was hooked to the source console along with deleting and redownloading in eshop prior to the transfer. So it seems something else is working against this at the moment.

The only post I read that it worked was when they had a mix of legit games along with their preinstalled game that came from the unit. The only one that made it to be played on the target was the preinstalled game. The other legit games had the same result as I wrote above.

Success stories I've read were in Nintendo forums. I can almost guarantee that a phone call to Nintendo with both your old and new serial numbers will get you fixed right up.

Try removing your NNID from an updated emunand, installing the "legit" games and relinking it (NNID, not nands). In the case of buying a system with said games, you add your NNID after the games are already installed. So it might only claim ownership when an NNID is linked. (Or ninty checks against serial but I doubt it. "Is this the SN of a bundle system? Yes/No")

Yep, that's what I was suggesting. That the game needs to be linked to an NNID before the transfer.

You're telling me that there are posts on the Nintendo forums about people downloading and installing "legit" .cia files to their Gateway emuNANDs and successfully transfering them to new systems by way of a System Transfer? You'll have to excuse me for being a little skeptical.

No. Posts about transferring BUNDLED games to a new system. It's the exact same thing unless your CIA files are broken.

Thanks for this great tool, Roxas, now I can finally use the eShop again. And it's awesome that I don't need to have any game or flashcard in my system to boot it up. ^^

Yeah it had a nintendo ID after the legit games were installed and didn't work. My 3ds was the source and it was the holiday bundle that had the mario game on it but the previous owner took it off prior to me buying it. So it had a legitimate SN for a preinstalled game. But I will end the conversation here to not divert attention from the beneficial use of rxTools.
