Yeah, on average, about 20. It depends on the size though. If you want to use large roms, usually games with good graphics, long cutscenes, or a lot of music, then you can't fit as much. Roms range from 16 MB to 128 MB. If you use all 128 MB games, then that would be eight games. If you use all 16 MB games, haha, that's a hell of a lot of games. I personally have one 128 MB game, two 64 MB games, a handful of 32 MB games, and about four 16 MB games on my 512 MB card. In total, I have 10 games. Hope that helps. If you can, a 2 gig stick is available on amazon for like 50. Awesome deal.

He's addicted to Pokemon Saphire, Golden Sun, Fire Emblem and Advance Wars

Those games are at max 16 MB, so 2048/16 is 128 roms on his cart!

1GB Kingston and I've got 20 (trimmed) on there right now with a decent bit of space left. I could probably fit another 5-10 depending on what games. Leave some space for your saves though. If you've got an R4, all saves are 512KB, so if you've got 20 roms (20x512KB) you'll need ~10MB for saves.

So I'm guessing you can't use your other saves.
Or is there a converter that eventually turns it into a 512kb file?

Seriously... just divide it up.

1 GB = roughly 990 MB (don't quote me)

Put all your roms in one folder, trimmed or untrimmed, and divide accordingly.

Took me 5 minutes, and by my estimate, I can likely fit 22 of the "best" DS games. Freaking FTW. Good thing I have two 1 GB microSD cards for some more of this sex.
