Hmm, it'll be a while till we enjoy the succulent goodness that are these new Pokemon games.
I'll have senior high school next year >.> meaning less time for games.
Ah well, i guess i'll just have to slip some time in for it.

we've never boughten both versions before (me and my sister both enjoy these games)

so we always end up having one play it, then erase the save and have the other play it or i usually just end up playing it on an emulator on the computer and let my sister use the real game. i guess this time i'll buy a copy and put a copy on my m3.

Actually the G6 and M3 support multiple saves for 1 game. I know how to do it on my g6 but not on my M3 but that is the main reason they offer the feature. Feel good about buying the game yet use your back up version so you can use two different save files. Very nice feature IMO. Very bummed about the release date...soo far away! Now I got into Pokemon last year and busted ass to get a surfing Pikachu....my question,

Question 1) Can anyone tell me the quickest way to unlock the NAT Pokedex? What if I take 2 DSes use my fresh started game capture me like 6 pokemon....then get a jap save file and trade all 150 pokemon to my new US released version. Would that work to unlock the Nat Pokedex?

Question 2) Does the G6 or M3 support the GBA/Linkage function with Pokemon Pearl/Diamond and Pokemon Fire/Leaf?

and of course if I can't trade with USA Pokemon with Jap Pokemon will my method work in question 1 if I wait till someone has all 150 on a USA pokedex and gives out the save file.

I ask this cause my Pikachu is level 7, as well as some other newly hatched offspring and I would much rather level them up on the game rather than running around on Green for the sole purpose of leveling my character up.

I'm pretty sure that you have to beat the elite 4 as well as having seen all 150 pokemon to get the national dex.

Eh, National Dex is usually unlocked after some major event (Beating Elite 4 for the first time or something). Probably not limited to seeing all possible pokemon first. Really looking forward to this game though, time feature + being able to see/catch baby pokemon in the wild.

Question 1) Only way to get National Pokedex (to the best of my knowledge) is to beat the elite four + rival for the first time. After that, Professor ____ will give you the National Pokedex and you'll be wisked off to a few more post-beating-the-game adventures.

2) Not sure yet. What I'm doing is jsut transferring from GBA m3's Leaf Green or whatever->my original Emerald chartrage (both with national dexes), then from there going to go to D/P. From what I know about Diamond/Pearl, you can only actually transfer pokemon from 3rd generation to 4th generation through some kind of "Pokemon Park" where you can capture the 6 pokemon by running through tall grass... not too fun or simple. Plus, you can only transfer 6 pokemon a day from what I hear.

If you find any info on Jap->USA transfer with M3, let me know.

I beat Emerald and Leaf so I am familiar with the standard but quoting gamefaqs faq on the Japanese version of the game:

QUOTE said:
Luckily, in this game, all you have to do to complete the Shinou Dex is SEE all the Pokemon in the Dex, as opposed to catching them like in previous games. And once you see all the Pokemon, you unlock the National Dex. There are 151 Pokemon in the Shinou Dex, but not all the new Pokemon are included in it.

Since the faq and other sources say you only have to see the pokemon I am assuming a quick trading of all 150 will unlock my dex earlier? It's a hope....I know some people have problems linking USA versions of games with other regions so we probably won't know till it's released. Other questions are if this method does NOT work can I transfer Pokemon that are in Shinou Dex from my GBA cart...I mean come on..we all know Pikachu will be in the dex so in that even I am hoping to transfer him over early. I used this method when I started Emerald...learned that only Fire and Leaf Green will be linkable to Diamond and Pearl and so I started a new game then I transfered over whatever Pokemon I had from the Kanto region that were also in the Hoen region before unlocking the national dex. Just so I didn't have to retrain standard Pokemon like Koffing, Pikachu, and Zubat that were in both games...if you catch my drift. So that would be my next question....can you transfer Shinou Pokemon off your GBA cart. I guess one more will be about WiFi play...does WiFi battles count towards "seeing" a pokemon? Oh man April can't get here soon enough =(

*edit....damn...just looked at the Wiki....no linkage support =( That sucks...good thing we have like 5 months for them to hopefully figure it out. Or hopefully a Simply M3 to M3 lite fix? Since I will own both =)

Not sure about working with an M3 (though I dont see why not), but as for Jap -> USA transfering
http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/foreign.shtml

Though I guess it doesn't really answer specifically whether Jap -> USA transfer works, but it does show that foreign trading is allowed. Also doesn't say whether all Pokemon are foreign tradeable, but I don't see why they would disable that.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to have a Fire Red GBA ROM on my M3 and with that, is it possible to bring Pokémon from that rom to the other ROM from Pearl or Diamond?

Certainly hope so, I'll start playing it now

I know on G6 you can with the Gba linking function.
Can't see why you can't on a M3.

Edit: Do you reckon this is the US release date not EU :'(
And will trading from US to EU be possible? Worked on 2nd Gen, guess i will just have to wait and see.
