It's pretty neat to see this in 2014!

To echo a couple others, I'd love to see a fork of Snes9x GX using Snes9x Next and a fix for that stupid tinny sound bug. I love Retroarch, but using Genesis Plus GX recently reminded me how nice it is to use a app specifically targeted for the Wii. Although, if resolution saving is actually happening in Retroarch 1.1 I think I'll be good to go.

One question that I never knew if it was possible or not.

Is VBAGX compatible with the GBC bios?
I always wanted to add the GBC bios to colorize some of the GB colors, since the color palette given by the bios makes games such as Kirby's Dream Land and the Mario Land games look beautiful.

The tinny sound issue I believe is an issue with Libogc itself, I believe. That, or it could be the emulator GUI uses Hermite interpolation at 48 KHz as opposed to the games themselves running at 32 KHz, with Gaussian interpolation, I believe. I know RetroArch has a similar issue in the early Wii ports, I reported it, did ABX testing and eventually got resolved as Hermite interpolation was changed to Gaussian at 44 KHz. That might be a possible cause, I don't know for sure, I'd need to look at the source code. The Snes9x Next version is based off of 1.52, whereas Snes9x GX 1.53, which has speed regressions due to IRQ emulation crap or something, I don't remember off the top of my head; that being said, if Snes9x Next with its speed hacks could be implemented, along with the audio fix, Snes9x GX could be just as good as Snes9x Next.

I little thing I noticed...
Some of the GB monochrome games no longer load the custom palette that they used to load with 2.2.8.
I tried with Castlevania Adventure, Adventure 2 and they load quite an odd palette.
Same for Metroid II, it loads up some weird colors instead of the previous ones.

Also, some hacked colourized games now seems to get a lot more garbled tiles than before.
Super Mario Land 2 DX and Metroid 2 DX hacks are the most notable ones.

Just confirmed it.
Something about the custom palettes option is no longer working properly.
I tried to create a custom palette for Kirby;s Dream Land in 2.3.0 but I couldn't get any proper response the way I want it to be. in more of an hour trying.
Switched to 2.2.8 and I created the palette to match that of the GBC bios in less than 10 minutes,

Same thing happened with the Castlevania games, Metroid 2 default palette is screwed up also.
I am not complaining, just that you might want to take a look at the part in charge of the GB and GBC palettes for 2.3.0.

Take a look, this image was taken using VBAGX 2.3.0:

This one is using VBAGX 2.2.8:

NOTE:
This was done using the EXACT SAME PALETTE.XML file for both versions of the emulator!

Would really like to see some Custom Palettes for GB games on this Emu would really....Spice things up a Bit :)

I only created a custom palette for Kirby's Dream Land, but you can create it for whatever game you want to.
It's quite easy actually.
Only thing is that the custom palette feature is working properly only in Version 2.2.8.

Are there any plans for Super Game Boy border support? Similar to Goomba where you can either use the game's default border or choose from a selection of custom borders or the various borders from the actual Super Game Boy.

how do you activate it than there's no option for covers in the menu??

in the general settings, where you set up ROM path, savegame path, etc. there is a cover path. Point that to where your covers are. Btw, covers should be sized from 260x260 to 224x224 and in .png format, at least that's what i use

Why so tense?

If you look carefully, you can use 2D or 3D covers or even pics in 2.3.0 The only difference in the one you posted is that is not separated per letter in folders and that the games are stacked horizontally. This is much slower than having all at once and vertically listed like the current 2.3.0. build. I have 1000+ GB(C) roms and i can easily scroll and locate whichever i like, while having a 2d cover or a 3d cover or a screenshot on the right of the screen.

The only thing missing is the info for each game, so if you are into that kinda thing, yeah that is not provided in the current 2.3.0 build. Imho the extra performance in GBA games more than makes up for it.

I'm with Bladexdsl, my settings look the same as his. What sort of wizardry did you use to get cover support?
