I added a pair of "translators" this week but those two did went MIA. So to answer toy question, no, so far the translation still inactive.

You know guys, i'd like to ask.... have you ever thought about putting up youtube videos, showing the rom hacking process as you do it? I was thinking that if you did something like that, it would create more people in a community with skills like yours. Then there would be more projects going on for the games that have no teams on them right now. Like Tales of Destiny 2 PSP. I don't even have my own PC right now, but I really want your skills. If I could do what you do, i'd join in the English patch making community too. Nope. I don't know Japanese. But neither did the guy who blew out the first Tales of Phantasia (PS1) patch when he first started. He went on a binge and finished the project in like... 4 months or something like that.

I'd love to just pop up all of a sudden one day with English patches for Star Ocean Blue Sphere, Tales of Vesperia PS3, Tales of Destinies 1 DC (PS2) & 2 (PSP), Grandia Digital Museum, Castlevania: Nocturne in the Moonlight (Sega CD), Kingdom Hearts Final Mix (PS2), Langrisser 3 (PS1) and a few others.

I am not part of the translation group but I imagine why that has not been done is for one big reason. Square Enix the legal owners of the game and many popular series are wildly know for shutting down any form of rom hack, modification of any kind, fan remakes among other things as well. They are over protective of there own property as rightfully so. However with the exception of Disney(Kingdom Hearts) I have never seen them work with anyone else to help release there games or anything along those lines. Best thing to do is not post videos. Because once that happens has history has shown the legal team of SE will come looking for you.

>:| Those lazy dicks. I swear, anything less than free Steam gifts and codes won't hold their attention for more than five minutes.

At least I tried. =_= And then there's still that chick left. I dropped her an email.

Actually I hacked Tales of Destiny 2, so the PSP version of the game could be patched using the PS2 translation that was on the works.
However, it happened the same that is happening with Type-0: No one to work on the translation itself, so I stopped working on it.
That was years ago, and I did the right thing, because the "translation" (which is not really cancelled) has been on the making for over 7 years... YES, MORE THAN SEVEN YEARS.

Of course this is not gonna happen with Type-0... I mean, I'm not working on it forever and the moment I see it's not getting translated, I would stop working on it too.
As much as I want this game translated, it's just not worth it, I wouldn't like to waste all the translation tools I created for it, but obviously I'm not gonna waste even more time getting
it translated.

Off: Text files, and pretty much all game rooms were exactly the same in both version of ToD2. In fact, only the compression was different. So yeah, both versions can be translated at the same time. Now, I don't really know if the PSP version has more game modes, extra stuff, or things like that, but the main scenario was the same.

Maybe it happens the same that happened with FFI GBA and PSP versions... The PSP had some extra dungeons... But I translated the 99% of it into Spanish, directly inserting the Spanish text from the GBA version lol

how to change the language of notepad++? because i want to try if i can translate it..
Generally you want to set it to UTF 8, or occasionally UTF 16.

That is to say, I think the point was that they extract the file, set notepad++ to read the text in the format it was written, e.g. UTF 8, then they translate it and replace the text file back in the ISO. Or at least, that's what I do.

Alright geez lol, here, this is everything that is needed to be translated, in order to have a full English experience (there are more texts in the game, but they are either done, or not so important):

http://www.mediafire.com/download/5vh4ypl4s3i7v6m/Type-0_Main_Scenario.txt

Obviously part of this document is already translated too, but since I'm posting it on a public board, it'll be just the untouched version...

...

EDIT: Well, about 25% of that document is translated as of now, surely with more active people the document could be already done by now, but obviously we all have a life. That's why I stress the need of more people.

This document is the the main scenario of the game, the "story script" containing NPC, missions, cutscenes, tutorials, etc... Due to the fact that there are many texts repeated in the game, the ~25% done actually represents more than the 40% of the text found in the main scenario during game play. But it's just a matter of trasnlating THIS file, since the rest hold much more unimportant text like the CC (wich is in part translated too), or important text that is already translated by the team (such as all the menus.)

is this the only script that needs to translate? or there is another?

Gambia, The
is this the only script that needs to translate? or there is another?

People read atleast the last 2 pages before you ask the same question over and over again

@SingZ:

Well yeah, there are also some graphics, but the important ones have also been translated already. That file I uploaded is the core text of the game, and yeah, it can be automatically inserted in the game once translated.

By changing the language, I meant translating the text itself; and yeah, there are some smaller text files, that I wouldn't really worry about for now.
Fun fact: A professional localization service for that file would cost $2900 and last one single month, but since I'm not sure about the legality of that solution, it's something I can't take into account.
