I have 4 identical Wii remotes. All 4 sync and operate properly with the System Menu, as well as all commercial games I've tried (launched either with the disc or via usbloader GX). However, whenever I am in the HBC, usbloader, or any other homebrew application, only one Wii remote seems to want to connect. Pressing buttons on any of the other 3 just results in flashing blue indicator lights.

It's the same physical remote that cooperates every time. I can reconnect all 4 remotes in the System Menu in any order I want, but only this one particular Wii remote ever connects. The other 3 never do.

All four Wii remotes were bought new at the same time from the same place in 2007, and all 4 have the same exact alphanumeric strings on the stickers underneath the battery compartment. ("RVL-003", same FCC ID, etc.)

I tried loading up various different IOS's with Multi Mod Manager to see if that would help at all. It did not. I don't know if this is simply because MMM itself only talks to a single remote at a time, though...

I did just very recently format my Wii system memory and re-modded my Wii with ModMii. I don't recall ever having had this problem before then. Is there something in particular I need to reinstall in order to get all four Wii remotes working with my homebrew apps?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is the wrong section for this kind of post.

The plot thickens!

I just discovered that while I CAN successfully reconnect all 4 remotes in the home button -> "Wii Remote Settings" thingie in the System Menu, I cannot seem to connect any of the other 3 remotes using the red buttons.

Also, if I power the Wii off and back on, when I return to the System Menu, the 3 Wii remotes don't automatically connect anymore. I have to connect them again via the Wii Remote Settings if I want to use them. What gives??

Fixed.

I found suggestions elsewhere on the Internet to unplug the Wii's power for a minute or so, plug it back in, turn it on and load to the System Menu, and press and hold the red button on the Wii for 15 seconds causing it to forget all Wii remotes. After that, I was able to successfully connect all 4 remotes with the red buttons. They now work in all homebrew I've tried and the Wii remembers them after a power cycle. Hooray!
