Seeing this pageant as being in poor taste doesn't make someone overly PC or paranoid in any way.

I suppose that if we have a Holocaust Victims Beauty Pageant, we should probably round up some participants for Mister Obersturmführer SS. After all, it all happened so long ago, nobody should be offended by now, right?

PS: I like how this Beauty Pageant was Jews-only, too. Well, I suppose it was held in Israel so it only makes sense... but... meh.

Calling us idiots doesn't make your comment better.

I'm not denying the jews suffering from the Nazis or anybody else and they have their right to organize an event as much as they want or the way they want to, but it's hypocritical of the Israelis to do this while they've killed a thousands of Palestinians including kids and women.

Strictly speaking, "the Israelis", or the mass of Israelis, didn't organize this. It was organized by some nonprofit group by the name of "Helping Hand for a Friend". Although it is interesting to note that a couple of cabinet members from the Israeli state attended the event.

Apparently, the aim of this is to raise awareness or recognise/ acknowledge the sufferings and experiences of the survivors.

The shallowness of a beauty pageant hardly befits a noble aim as this.

Maybe if the Palestinians would stop shooting rockets everyday at Israel then the IDF wouldn't have to come in and stop them. If I remember correctly it was just last week when over 100 rockets hit southern Israel, you don't see that in the media. I think its time for Hamas to try to actually start making talks with Netanyahu, instead of evading them all the time.

EDIT: By the way the Arab countries and Iran don't give a fuck about the Palestinians actually. Instead they are exploiting it to remove Israel, if they cared about them then countries such as Jordan would allow and incorporate the Palestinians into their society which they don't, they make the Palestinians live in refugee camps. When Israel was created, tons of Jews were kicked out of their former Arab countries that they lived in and moved to Israel and were citizens from the start and they have full civil rights. They were immediately welcomes and absorbed into Israeli society. So why aren't the Palestinian Arabs incorborated and absorbed into the other Arab nations societies, as they don't have any citizenship rights in any Arab country except Jordan, and even then they don't have houshold ownership, and denials of education and health services.

It's a bit of a tricky issue, from my understandings. I think it's a mistake to say ALL of Palestinians or ALL of Israel supports this or that; there are different factions, political/religious leanings, etc. It's wrong to say both sides are entirely right or wrong. I also think it's wrong to assume political leaders to be the ultimate representation of the people. The ultimate solution is flooding Israel and Palestine with marijuana nugs.

You're kidding right? Of course every country has their own problems but you can't just focus on them and say that the country shouldn't exist. Israel has done millions of positive things such as inventions that help the international community as well, but no one focuses on that. That's like me saying Britain doesn't have the right to exist because of the Irish, now everyone that is British must leave the country or die. We should now turn the whole country of Britain to Ireland. You don't think that is me being racist to British people? You are basically saying that the Jews aren't allowed to have a country of their own? And be outcasts in other people's nations and be ruled by them and not have the ability the secure our own future, without our own army to defend ourselves?

I would shoot down the victimizing of Israel and demonizing the Palestinians, but seeing that the mods forbade us to, all I'm going to say is "grab a history book and start watching international news channels before you open your mouth" and leave it as it is.

As for raising awareness about the Holocaust via a beauty contest, it's the equivalent of raising awareness of [censored] via a Mister Rapist 2012 contest. Noble causes do not validate stupid ideas.
