Hacking mighty channels exception (DSI)

Hi all,

I have been trying to get some VC games to work on my wii and I have followed the guides and I 'thought' I was doing ok. I've created the nand on my SD card, extracted some VC games to it using ShowMiiWads and can load mighty channels. It runs the nand off the SD card and displays the 4 games I have extracted but the problems happen when I try to load one.

When I load the games (I've tried all 4) I get a thrown to a exception (DSI) page. I have tried dumping the sd nand from Simple FS Dumper (dsi error), I've also tried to creating the SD nand from my nand dump from Bootmii. Same thing happens.

I just re-modded my wii using the lastest version of HackMii (on system menu 4.1) so I am fully up to date with cIOS's.

Has anyone got any ideas what I am doing wrong and what I need to do to get the VC games running as I am out of ideas?

Hard to say...haven't used mighty channels in quite a while. Something to try...

1. use modmii to create a virgin nand (sneek nand builder). Then use showmiiwads to install your VC in there. Then try to see if that'll work.
2. I remember mighty channels and triiforce_MRC had some options per game. Force video to PAL was important for NTSC ones, but I can't remember the other ones. Fiddling around with that tended to produce some results, though.

BTW...what do you mean with "the latest version of hackmii"? That just installs bootmii and the HBC...no cIOS'es. If you don't have the latest d2x cIOS'es (or are not sure), I suggest you install it by using modmii (or the d2x sticky).

Oh, and finally...are you sure those VC are confirmed working? Like I said: I'm not too familiar with mighty channels anymore (full nand emulation doesn't have that messing with cIOS or settings...and no exception games), so I don't know how good it works nowadays.

Thanks for you reply, I will try what you have suggested with the virgin nand from modmii. I got the 'hackmii' part of my post wrong (sorry). I meant I have used the latest / most up to date version of modmii to mod my wii so I am on the latest cIOS's. Using Modmii does it matter what sort of virgin nand you create? Does it have to be a certain system menu?

If I install the VC's into this virgin nand what do I need to use to run them? I was using mighty channels as I thought that was the newst and most up to date VC loader. If this is not the case could you tell me how I load the VC games if I don't use this or TriiForce?

I am unsure about the games but I have tried swapped their region in showmiiwads and have tried all 5 games and they all bomb out the same way which is why I was thinking the problem with my setup rather than the game.
