There is a comparison video and it clearly shows the PS3 version as the successor. Not only are the textures sharper and more defined but the drawing distance on the PS3 version is practically infinite. Meaning when you look into the distance on the PS3 version you can see buildings and people as far as a human can see whereas on the 360 version you can clearly see that everything gets cut off at a certain point. Not to mention that since PS3 is on Bluray you only have one disc rather than swapping between 3 DVDs like on xbox. I also think that's why the PS3 version looks better because they have a huge amount of space leftover on a bluray even after 3 DVDs worth of data to put higher resolution textures.
Just to correct the painfully obvious technical NOOB in this thread about this whole "xbox has 1080p" nonsense you should realize that multi-platform games that run in 720p on PS3 and 1080p on 360 is not because the 360 is better in anyway. It's because 360 chooses to force an upscale on the game to 1080p rather than leave it at the native resolution of 720p. This causes quality loss considering you are stretching the image but they think it helps market the game better to dumbies like you when it says 1080p on it (looks like it works). Playstation chooses to leave the games at their native resolution but still give you the CHOICE to upscale to 1080p. So if the game is done in 720p then it remains in 720p which retains it's quality unless you choose to force upscale to 1080p. So sorry buddy but you're insanely wrong and should do some research before spouting off opinions on what's better when you clearly don't even know what you're talking about.
I bet people like him go around convincing people to get a 360 based on false information like that and it's seriously ridiculous. What is hilarious is how some people are such whores for numbers when deep down they know it makes no difference whatsoever. The difference between 720p and 1080p on an HDTV is so minimal that the human eye can't even tell the difference. You need an HD projector set at a minimum of 100 inches to even see any benefit. But these people are so hung up on what's "better" that if the market tells them it's better they'll be willing to shell out more money for it. This guy
damedus doesn't even realize how pointless the 1080p upscale is. He is just one of those goofballs who thinks his game is better because it says 1080p at the top when he starts the game. He's reaching desperately for a reason to justify his purchase rather than really look at the facts.
People are so ridiculously sensitive about purchases these days that they will flat out lie about being upset that features are missing or will pretend like they like something that annoys them just so they can say "what I own is better than what you own". God forbid someone admits when something they own is sub-par or is lacking features that another thing has. His mommy probably told him he had to choose just ONE system for christmas and little tommy picked 360 so now he has to say it's the best thing ever even if he finds himself wishing he got a PS3 instead.
Here are LEGIT reasons to compare when it comes to the two consoles. PS3 outperforms the 360 in so many ways and has so many features and exclusives that 360 is lacking for the same price point that it's almost absurd not to consider PS3. Way way WAY better exclusives that you are HORRIBLY missing out on like Uncharted, God Of War 3, Infamous, Resistance, Killzone, Metal Gear Solid, Littlebigplanet, Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank, MAG, Ninja Gaiden, and on and on and on, bluetooth controllers that have internal batteries that charge via USB so you don't have to shell out money for some stupid 360 controller charge pack, SATA hard drive that is swappable with any 2.5" SATA drive instead of some clunky xbox hard drive where you have to pay a fortune just to get 250GB, FREE internet gaming and playstation store, not only plays blurays but the games are on bluray and it also plays 3D blurays, Wireless WiFi built-in instead of paying $100 for some stupid 360 connector or needing to shell out money for the new xbox model, and the list goes ON AND ON.
I own both systems by the way so there's no shilling here. That's just the facts and seriously other than Gears of War the 360 doesn't have much going for it. I sense Microsoft going downhill during the next console wars. With the new Playstation Vita handheld coming out which is compatible with PS3 and eventually a Playstation 4 it's something that Microsoft simply can't compete with. Sony and Nintendo with their new Project Wii U will lead the next console wars for sure so mark my words and see.
