It's about Elves. I doubt it'd happen in the future.
Oh, and Waflix, I'd like to help you with the story, so would you mind adding me as a scenario editor?

I was thinking to do the same as you but I never really came with an good idea. But this sound fun ^^
uhhm the story said something about war so I have a question: When is the war ( I mean like future, Middel ages or just kind of modern war)

Well, actually, it isn't on this world. And if you would like to have an age to compare to 'our World', it would be 1200.
It is with magic, swords, knives, bows, kings.
Just like FF:CC: EoT, FF III and DQ IX.

I'll join, not quite sure in what capacity.

Maybe you can search at Google for Game Credits, and look if you like one (or more) of them. Or maybe look at yourself, at your hobby's.

I've been thinking of a whole new concept for the land in this game:
Zenzai is separated by a long river, into two different territories. One specifically inhabited by Black elves, elves wielding the power of the shadows. [Or you know, something along the line =P] The one on the other side is only inhabited by White elves, wielding the holy power of light.
They were once both white elves, allied, but coming from separate kingdoms, and thus controlled by two different kings. The strong prosperity from one of the kingdoms sparked a rivalry between the two kings, both finally deciding to resort to violence, and thus, war. However, one of the kings, overwhelmed by the enemy, resorted to the use of a forbidden magic/technique/arcana [Well, you know, something completely hidden and utterly strong] which would unleash the full strength of the elves, which involves unleashing the dark side inside of them. Everyone in his own kingdom were corrupted, and those that were of pure heart were quickly dispatched.

Thus, the White elves were quickly defeated by their unholy opponent, and had to go on hiding, protecting the king from the grasps of the monsters.
Oh, and based on this storyline, we should probably go for a prologue level, explaining Zenzai's background.

And well, that's mostly it, while the story will start from there. What do you think? Honestly, criticize me all you want xD

Regarding the name, zenzai is a type of soup in Japan (it tastes pretty good actually).

I suggest you either make the scenario of the game accordingly, with different soup tribes battling it out, or change the name.

I didn't know it was a kind of soup in Japan...
But the name 'Zenzai' accords to the name of the land, and to the capital. So I won't stick with it :').

Yesterday I was searching for an old drawing I once made, it was a map. I didn't find it, but I did remember that it had the shape of a half moon, and in the north-west there was a small island. The small island was where you live when you are 10.
In the middle of the half moon, there is a giant wall, that seperates the Northern part and the Southern part of the island. In the middle of the wall, there is the capital; Zenzai. (The capital was named after the country).

I'll post some graphics soon. Having a few computer issues at the moment though. )
(I'm using my iPod)

Good idea, we still need a lead artist. (I am using Linux Slax at the moment, so Clicktime doesn't block me).

________________________________________________________________________________
I made a little drawing with KolourPaint (the paint version at Slax :') ) Where I want to explain a few things about the game.

The red line seperates the 2 screens the DS has.

But on the lower screen you can select your Class (Black or White Elf), Gender (Male or Female), Tribe (Warrior, Archer, Magician, etc.) and of course your name.
At the top screen you get a little preview, and you can - with L and R - turn your character, so you can see him from every possible side.
The darker grey blocks is what you didn't choose, and the lighter grey blocks mark what you did choose.

I agree if you say that the sun, the colours and the cloud are stupid, but I was a little bored, and I did it with my mouse...

Won't that be a little too hard to code?

Oh, and by the way, what did you think about the story I've imagined? I kinda like your idea, with the wall and all, but I was wondering if you could give your opinion on my own.

Not that my opinion actually matters much I thought your setting was pretty interesting.

This project is very ambitious though, and ambitious projects like this are very rarely finished.

I would suggest you start with the very basics of basics (for instance not focusing on many classes, genders and tribes and not putting too much weight on the story until it's actually needed) and then move a small step at a time instead of trying to make everything at once (which many internet projects of this nature seem to attempt, resulting in failure without exception). Deciding on the very basic gameplay mechanics, implementing programming and making graphics for these is a good start.

There was a small typo that'd change everything in the plot, so I edited it just in case. The white elves only protect their own king, not the other one, since he's as corrupted as his pawns. I put an "s" at kings for no reason >.>
And, although, like you said, your opinion doesn't really matter, It makes me feel great, and motivated =P

The whole rotating thing would be pretty hard to code, the homebrew 3D engine isn't the best apparently.
Not insinuating that you are dumb, but why should you not be able to rotate a 3D character with a 3D engine?

He never said it was impossible, just very hard to code.

Since it's 3D, why not use the Super Mario 64 editor? =P

Actually I read that as king and didn't even notice it said kings as that wouldn't have made any sense in the context.

Im still not getting this? Then the whole 3D aspect of the game is "hard to code". Not just the rotating part, as rotating objects in a 3 dimensional space is the most basic function of a 3D Engine afaik.

Let me edit my earlier question a bit then.
