My DSi isn't even recognizing the iedge, it says no cart, rather than having the iedge logo. Any suggestions?

Mine did the same thing. Clean the contacts.

Alright, so i opened it up, and swabbed it with a bit of rubbing alcohol, still nothing >

There's some wear on one of the contacts, but i'm not sure if that would make a big difference? Is it possible the iedge could be fried or anything?

I followed the instructions as per C but I could not get the ROM file when i executed "EdgeBootUpdate-v1.exe" as an administrator. The ROM file, "0363 - Puzzle Series Vol. 3 - Sudoku (J).nds" could not be found anywhere on my computer !...

I have iEDGE chip with 8GB SD Micro card. The iEDGE chip does not have led light on it.

I bought my DSi from the US.

All the other files extracted OK and I have the iEDGE.Dat & EDGE folder.

When I enter the iEdge chip into my DSi and switch it on, I get a icon "Danny Phantom Urban Jungle" in the cartrdge slot, however, upon selecting the icon I get an error - System File Is Missing !

I do not have a sudoku icon at all. Even when i just switch on my DSi without the iEdge chip.

Should I send my iEDGE card back and replace it with an R4i card which I assume works on a DSi.

I am at lost as to what to do... :-(

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

It sounds like you have one of the fake/clone cards doing the rounds.
Check the photos in my guide to make sure.

I had that issue where I had flashed it properly the first time, but the iEDGE icon was still there. I let the led blink till it finished. So I went back and remade the update file and redid the process and sure enough it still showed the iEDGE icon after booting.

For me I had to remove the card, power off, and reinsert. Then I got the Sudoku Hudson logo and it worked fine.

The only thing I can say is try doing it twice in a row. If that doesn't work then something is up.

Okay I was checking back and getting mixed answers soo I'm sorry but I gotta ask, what's the deal with the bupdate.bin file? I went through the whole set up but when I check the microsd bupdate.bin is still there? I put the OS on the card too and it works fine even though its on there. Should I still delete it...?

edit : nvm , after the third time i checked, the bupdate has disappeared

In my case the led flashes again and the bupdate.bin is still on the micro sd What am I doing wrong? The edge support means the card is defective? But the problem have so many. Please help

Hi guy's, new here and experiencing some familiar issues...

I ordered 2 x iEDGE cards for my kids, I've followed the directions to a 'T' several times now and neither card will work - no sudoku icon, only the edge icon when I fire the devices up...

I can understand one card here and there failing (as per Liam) but both mine are failing - what are the odds...???

Update:

Out of pure frustration, I grabbed the 8Gb MicroSD(HC) out of my HTC phone - formatted and followed the steps as outlined... IT WORKED...!!! Raced out and grabbed another 2 x 4GB MuicroSD cards, followed the steps and they both work - seems some microsd's don't like this process...

Could you please tell me the exact make/model of the 4GB MicroSD cards you have and where you bought them from? I'm not able to get the process to work for me and I think it might be because I'm using an incompatible MicroSD card (I have a Kingston 2GB card).

Thanks

Actually, using the Kingston microSD(not microSDHC, that is not over or equal to 4GB size) memory card should be no problem.

Actually, there are some DS Flash cards are not compatible with some microSDHC memory cards such as Kingston. However, there is no record of it in using with iEDGE card.

If you really get the problem with your Kingston 2GB microSD memory card, you can try to get an original SanDisk(not fake one) microSD memory card to have a try.

All four cards involved are Sandisk (genuine) 4Gb MicroSD HC cards, the card from my phone is also a Sandisk...

If your having trouble setting up your iEdge then please try these instructions:

This will help with red light staying on & ERROR LOCKING DRIVE:

1. Download the bootstrap(it is a winrar file) (make sure it is for your pcs operating system)

2. Make sure you also have the rom file 0363 puzzle series vol.3 Soduko.nds (i found this file from a different website because it wasnt on the official edge download Google is your friend!) (this file was also in the same file as the bootstrap u need..winrar)

3. Do not put anything on the card yet

4. insert the card using the usb adapter into a working usb port (sd card adapter does not work and will not let you pick the drive)

5. run the edgebootupdate.exe (from your pc)

6. pick the path to the rom file that should be on your pc that u have previously downloaded ( 0363- puzzle series vol 3- Soduko.nds) It will update.

7. You now should have a .bin file on the card

8. safely remove the card and put it in the iegde

9. insert iedge into ds and turn it on
dont touch anything! red light flashes on the iedge and will eventually stop flashing. After the flashing stops it should be done.
Turn off ds and take it out.

10. insert back into usb adapter and load the iedge with the iedge os(you will have to download this aswell..also winrar) and all should be sweet. When inserted back into ds there will be a suduko option that u need to pick in order to use the iedge. It should boot up from there.
