I have a content.bin file that I want to put into a wad. Can anyone point me to a tutorial or maybe tell me what needs to be done in order to pack the file into a wad? I have blaze'a wad packer? It's not as simple as just putting the content.bin into the wadpacker is it?

Sorry, but this can't be done without the 'ticket' file. The Virtual game stored on the Wii is made up of the 'content' and the 'ticket', but when you use the Wii's File Management system, it does not provide you with the 'ticket', this stays on the Wii.

Your post sounds like you no longer have access to the Wii the Virtual game was bought on, else you would use the Wii FileSystem Dumper by Waninoko. If you do have access to the Wii, just use the FileSystem Dumper. Else, you could try to find the 'ticket' elsewhere, i.e., by downloading the same game from the same region from the internet, as the important part of the 'ticket' will be unchanged. Else if releasing an unreleased game is your goal, you need to get the 'ticket' yourself from your setup. As I said before, this needs the Wii FileSystem Dumper.

Hope this helps more than the above posts. ^^

the content.bin is encrypted with your wii's unique key. no other wii has the same key. and you don't either, as there's no easy means to extract the key (requires capturing of ram data with special devices etc).

Well, I was going to make a wad out of my Mario Kart Channel, then proceed to freethewads it (so then I can use the PAL Mario Kart Channel on my NTSC wii). I know you could access this through the disc, but I just want to see if I can do it. I'll try the wii filesystem dumper and see what I can do...

Hmmm..... well I already dumped my wii data onto my sd card. Are you sure that it is impossible to make a wad out of it? I've seen wads for other channels, most common one being the internet channel.

EDIT: I have now found the mario kart wii channel files and have dumped them onto my computer. I also got the ticket for it. Does anyone know of a good up to date tool to use to pack this into a wad?

EDIT 2: Nevermind. I got the wad created, then I used freethewads and it works like a charm now. So basically, I can now use the PAL Mario Kart Wii Channel on my NTSC wii. If anyone wants me to release the wad, I'll be more than happy to.

Those wads are already on the game disc... At least it's so for wiifit channel, I know because once I was fiddling with wiifit channel's bmg file to translate the language resources to another language...

you can view the keys.bin file made when BootMii dumps your NAND, it has your unique key stored in it, if you know where to look (it also has the wii common-key)
